Just got this...using Windows Media Player.

    What do you use?
    What are your favorite stations?

I use Music Match Jukebox. You can pick one of their MANY stations, or if you have your own music on your hard drive you create your own list and play it. There is a Free version and paid version. The *paid version* sound pricey, but if I remember correctly-this is Dh's area of expertise-it is lifetime for updates and other perks.

I use the hated Windows Media Player. I listen to ChristianRock.net and Radio Y, they both have good blends of rock ranging from Living Sacrifice to Rebecca St. James.

Online I sometimes listen to "The Old Christian Radio" I think it's called. Or I'll pop a CD in the hard drive. I've also got a few MIDI's loaded on my computer in the Media Player that plays in a list I saved.
I listen to the Bible Broadcasting Network quite a lot on the regular radio. Don't care much for the preachers they have on there sometimes, but I like the fact they play only the old hymns. I think you can hear it via internet at www.bbnradio.org
btw, the thread title is "Streaming Radio." I might be showing my ignorance here, but what exactly is a "streaming" raido? I thought music streamed out of all radios. Is this a specific kind?

Oops, I didn't make that clear, did I?!

I'm not sure how clear I can make it, but basically it is internet radio. If you have a slow connection, it breaks up a lot (like it gets "stuck"!), that's why I couldn't listen to it before now.

So how many of you DO listen to the radio on the internet? What are the best stations?

    I enjoy SermonAudio.com

Soundwaves2000.com has a number of good shows archived such as Unraveling the New World Order and Issues In Education.

Oneplace.com offers easy access to a number of ministries such as Truths That Transform, Point Of View With Marlin Maddox, and Ravi Zacharias.

Ohhhhh thankyou Carl for that link! I've written it down, and gonna use it soon! I've no patience for a preacher that sugar coats truth. I don't care for what man says, I want what the BIBLE says!
Margie, thanks for explaining. It was probably just my slowness...I mean I have trouble leaving messages on an answering machine for mercy sake! It's no wonder I didn't know what you meant!
LOL my dad jokingly said he was getting me some common sense for Christmas....still waiting...j/k. ;)

So are there any more call letters or stations that youth prefer on the internet?

LOL, first and foremost because it's a MS program. Second because it messes up at the slightest thing and is practically impossible to fix without reinstalling. Third, because it and real one have a monopoly on streaming broadcasts, and both are so unreliable I want to send them both to the great disk in the sky, but I can't because then I wouldn't be able to use any streaming media. Errrrr.

LOL, funny you should post this...WMP recently bogged all the resources on one of our computers and created all kinds of temporary problems...but a reboot fixed it. We haven't used it since...

    Has anyone tried Musicmatch?

How 'bout CmRadio.Net? They have a pretty good selection with both dialup and Broadband streams.. I like it because you can request the songs you want to hear. And they actually play them too [IMG]

Try j103.com. It is CCM, mainly pop.

Also, wayfm.com. It is CCM, a little harder that j103, but not much. A lot less advertising.

Wayfm also has another station that is only online (for now). It is thexstation.com. They tout it as "edgier Christian music".

    In Christ,

I've start listening to ChristianRock.net. They have good amount of music, with the newest songs, and it's always music 24/7. Great stuff.
