Hi, my name is Becca. I'm new here too. I live in Phoenix, AZ. I play the trumpet (hymns and basically anything else). I have played since 6th grade (6 years! Wow, time has flown!). I go to Maranatha Baptist Church.

My name is Trotter. That is my last name, and what I go by online.

#2 tell what instrument(s) you play
In school I played the trombone, baritone, and flugabone. I pick around on the piano/keyboard, but you couldn't call that playing.

#3 what style you play
I was in band, so it was classical, with a little jazz and some movie themes thrown in.

#4 how long you have been playing
I played trombone for four years, until the band director and I had a disagreemant. He said band would come before everything else, and told him he was crazy.

#5 anything else interesting about your music
I love almost all styles of music (not wild about country, and opera should be classified as a torture device). I am a very music-oriented person, in that music speaks to me very deeply.

#6 and what church you are a member of (that might be included in #1?)
I am a member of Elkmont baptist Church, but I attend Waterville Baptist Church (long story).

Well I played Violin, put it on hold though. and I tried to play a guitar the other day.

violin: Classical. But I love John Williams work. especially the Jurrassic park theme.
Guitar: I mangaed to play the very beggining of Smashing Pumpkins "Today".

Violin: Three years
Guitar: not long enough to matter

My name is Matt from the Home of the Trout Festival Kalkaska Michigan. Never heard of it?
Neither had I tell my dad and mom moved up here to take over the church.

II. What instument do you play?
I play the guitar and I can plunk around on the piano. (I don't think you can call it playing when I only know Joshua Fit the Battle on the Piano!)

III. What style do you play?
I play a lot of Praise and worship. I also play hymns and any music I am into at the moment. I want to play the classical so I can play Man of La Mancha that would be cool!

How sad for you Matt! (I'm sure your music is interesting to someone!?!?!) lol. Well, I started playing the piano (I took lessons for a little while). I can officially play (not too too bad) In the Cross, The Old Rugged Cross, Do you Know my Jesus, His Eye is on the Sparrow, and For Those Tears I died. Did you notice something about the timing of these songs? They're all 3/4 timing, which is the only thing I can play!! How weird is that? I guess it might be interesting though!!

Music is one of the few things that gets me amped for Jesus. If it gets me closer to god, the there is an eternity of reasons why it is interesting.

 

I definitely agree- I feel so close to God when I can just pour my heart out and praise Him through song!!! (and instrument).
