I'm done as well after the convention! There is no candidate worthy of my vote!

It is still non sequitur to demand that just because he said they do "wonderful things" that he thus supports abortion.

He could have spoken in ignorance. Or, you could be right. Upwards of 20% of their activities are not abortions and he could have been talking about that.

What we know, again, is that he has vowed to try to defund them if they continue to perform abortions and that he has hired a pro-life champion as his domestic policy advisor.

I think you are probably right. He probably is out of touch with the pro-life community. That STILL doesn't necessitate that he is for abortion.

Correct me if I'm wrong but as Christians are we not suppose to refrain from participating in anything ungodly? This is about the most ungodly election I can recall since I've been old enough to vote! Or can we just be part time Christians?(sarcasm)

It is amazing the lengths that some Christians will go to rationalize their support of a man that embodies every one of the seven deadly sins. He's a serial adulterer that builds casinos. What a godly example he is!

It is unsurprising that your reaction to my post is a churlish, degrading, emoticon filled replied that doesn't interact but only rebukes.

Are all Trump supporters entirely incapable of engagement?

Here's the deal: voting in a federal constitutional republic was about winning. It is about voting for those individuals who best represent your ideals. The viability of a candidate, in our system, only extends to how they represent the ideals of the ones voting for them. I am neither Republican nor Democrat. Both parties are awash in corruption and this election will be an additional proof of that.

Clinton and Trump are two sides of the same coin. Look at their policy proposals. They are almost identical (other than some rhetoric about a wall which will never happen.) Voting for either is voting for the other. I simply refuse to be part of such evil.

How is capitulating your moral authority ever going to bring change?

I'm still waiting for a real engagement. I had a Trumpbot on Facebook post on MY wall how hateful I was for being #NEVERTRUMP and then he blocked me for "attacking" him. I'm not even sure what the whole point was.

Can anyone remind me when we ever had a "godly election"?

1789? Only white men were allowed.

    Just facing reality.

I used the phrase "godly example" in reference to a candidate.
Who used the term "godly election"? Anyone?
    Anyone?

ITL - how many and what kind of "deadly" sins must a candidate refrain from to be judged as a "godly example" worthy of our vote?. Who has ever qualified?

Jimmy Carter who bore witness that he was a born again Christian also publicly confessed that he had committed deadly sins in his heart?

I understand your thoughts and empathize with you however.

When I was in the military (USAF) JFK was our president who I loved but was shattered when his secret sins were revealed.

FWIW I am no fan of Donald Trump

I think this is a legitimate point. We have imperfect elections because we have imperfect people. Expecting a clearly unsaved person to act holy is the height of idiocy as well. We aren't electing a "pastor in chief" and we shouldn't expect anyone looking to higher office to be so. Frankly, I don't think anyone in a national office (Legislative and Executive branches) is free from corruption.

However, this isn't my issue with Mr Trump. He is, imho, a terrible candidate who is, as I've mentioned, no different than his future Democratic opponent. Between the two, I choose neither. This decision isn't based on his attempts at portraying a Christian witness or some moral standard he couldn't possibly achieve, but rather that he is a man who is more corrupt than any in recent memory, one with such bad ideas they actually make you want to run screaming back to English rule, and someone with such misogynistic, sexist language that I want nothing to do with this man leading our nation.

I just believe there is a candidate in the third party group that better represents my ideals and understanding of governance. That's where I'll be placing my vote in November.

PIJ, if by some miracle God presents a candidate and magnifies him or her in the eyes of the people then I would definitely stand behind him/her.

However it seems we have a man who in the final analysis would be better than Marxist Billary (though there is a measure of doubt).

    We are in a dilemma.

Votes for a write-in are unpredictable concerning the final outcome and in all probability would not result in the write-in's election.

    Just facing reality.

Well I'll give you a hint if you really want to engage properly, you are not off to a great start.

Perhaps then we should stay away from elections if our leaders are not suppose to be Christian or strive to be and focus on the more important issue of leading those unsaved to Christ! How can we be Christ like if we attempt to place evil men/women in a position to cause further damage? We are after all disciples of Christ aren't we? I supported a Christian to lead our nation and now he is out of the race! I will not be voting!
