    I want to know what other teens think about dating.
    1. How old is old enough to date?
    2. Who should you date?
    3. Who should you not date?
    4. Why do you personally date someone?
    5. Would you date someone who was a different religion than you?

    I will tell you about what I feel.
    1. I think it depends on if you are ready to date I was not ready to date when I was 16.
    2. I will only date people who believe the same way as I do and I feel that I have things in common with.
    3.I will not date a guy who is a jerk. If he drinks, smokes, or dips I will not date him.
    5. I would not date someone of a different religion that me.

    hmm

    1. I agree with you completely its when you are "READY TO DATE" not when you just want to date. I think a person is ready to date when they find someone that they are attracted to (i dont mean a sexual attraction). When this happens i think you are mature enough to date.

    2. I will only date a Christian girl, they dont have to be a Baptist but they do need to be a follower of Christ. They need to show interest in what I do. I had a girlfriend once that was a Christian but hated the fact that I was a cyclist she would tell me not to go out and ride she refused to go to races with me and so on.

    3. I kinda answered that with #2... but if they are not a Christian, and dont support me.

    4. not sure what you're asking.... didnt i answer that with #2...

    5. Nope sure wouldnt. I had this girl who I worked with she is Wiccan (or however you spell it), who wanted to date me and I told her no and gave her the reason. She tried to get me fired for discrimination. So now she was NOT supportive and NOT a christian

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    How old is old enough? If I had kids I'd say late teens, early twenties. I think it depends on maturity.
    Who should you date? A born again child of God who is serving and living for God, who shares doctrine beliefs, and shares your interests.
    Who should you not date? A non-believer, or a backslidden Christian.
    Why do you personaly date someone? I don't date, and havn't before, but when and if I do, it will be because of the reasons above in who should you date.
    Would I date someone of another relegion? No. Even if I met someone in another denomination/relegion who was saved, I would not date them because of doctrine diffrences. A reason for dating is to find the person God has for you. When I think of marriage I know that there will be times when the couple will disagree, and Bible doctrine shouldn't be something they disagree on. Some may disagree with me about this, and that's fine, but the doctrine/relegion thing is not something I want to be an issue. I'm Independant Fundamental Baptist, will be till I die, by the grace of God.
    1. When your parents allow you to or believe you maturally ready.
    2. Someone who you think God would want you to date, here's an idea, pray about it?? Oh yeah, and make sure your parents approve of him...especially when your dad has a 85% accuracy rate on fatal shot on an AK-47.
    3. Anyone who is not saved, (assuming most of you are saved), it says in the bible to not be unequally yoked. You and your parents should talk about the rest, and you and God, and study God's word about it.
    4. I don't date anyone right now.
    5. NO, absolutely not!
    I think that I would not let my kids date any younger than 16 but they would have to be ready just because you are 16 does not mean you are ready to date. I also feel it is wrong to date someone if you feel you have no future with them.
    1) when your parents think you are mature enough and have done a thorough examination of the prospective "dater".
    It will prob. be late teens before i let my children..all depending on maturty of course.
    2) for me : Some one that is a born again Christian that has surrendered their life to God and is called into the ministry. Someone that would be a prospect for marriage. ( After all isnt that what dating is supposed to be for? )
    3) anyone who is not saved/backslidden.
    4) I dont really "date"..its more like a courting situation for me..but i think it should all be about finding that one that God has planned for you.
    5) Not ever. Like I said..the whole point in dating/courting..is to find your future mate..therefore..the Bible clearly states to not be unequally yoke.
    That depends on the maturity of each person. I would say late teens.
    For me they have to be a Christian, first and formost. Someone that you are attracted to, and not just physically. Someone that you can see as marring. After all that is the purpose of dating.
    Depends on what is ment by religion. If you mean denominations then yes i would (and am) dating someone from a different denomination as me. But anyone I date has to be a Chritian so a completely different religion, No.
    1. You shouldn't date until you are ready to be married, like I'm 18, not ready to get married, so I'm not dating. The Bible teaches dating/courting is solely for the fact of finding a mate.
    2. You should date a member of the opposite gender who is a born again believer, believes in the Bible, the Word of God, and has a daily walk with the Lord.
    3. You should not date anyone your pastor and/or parents do not approve of. Any backslidden Christians or unbelievers.
    4. I'm not dating at this time, but I would personally date someone when I go to college, to find a husband, and so I can fufill the Bible and get married and be a wife and a mother, Lord willing.
    5. No, do not yoke unbelievers with believers, you should have the same standards, beliefs and convictions so you can have a smooth and happy marriage and not be fighting and bickering about little things.
    lol- You're 10 years behind my dad. He always says I can't get married until I'm 40. What's funny is the other day he was talking about a bachelor (who is 70 something and STILL looking for a wife :eek: ) and he was saying that he thinks that if one doesn't get married by the time they're 40... they'll probably never get married.     My dad already wants to arrange my marriage, he says he wants a son-in-law, who is and then he lists all these things, and then I start thinking...That sounds an awful lot like him. The man my dad described and then he said and is about 18 and and I knew exactly who he was talking bout then, the asst. pastor of our church, who happens to be starting bible college next year and I thought "oh joy even my father..."
    Know what really scared me the other day?!?!
    My grandparents and I were in the car riding to Shelby NC (we've been going to the same place to eat every saturday since my dad was a kid!!!) and my granmother brought up the fact I was leaving for college in a year. She said "You know, in about a year, it'll just be us driving to Shelby."
    My grandpa said "Why's that?" My grandma said "Because she's going to Tabernacle next year. She won't be able to come home but once a month."
    My grandpa (who when he thought he was dying made me promise not to date untill I was 18) of all things says "Well, she may not be leaving. She might be getting married before then." He said this very calmly.
    I on the other hand had to keep my eyes from popping out of my head! I've never even dated, so I don't know were he gets the idea that I might be getting married in a year!
    I hollored "Do you know something I don't know?!"
    All I got was a "Maybe, maybe not."
    I'm hoping for a "maybe not!"
    BTW, Kayla, Your father is a wise man. Better listen to him...and your grandmother! ;)
