The word "covenant" is italicized meaning it was added by the translators. What the problem was was the priesthood (governed by men) and hebrews talks about the melechzadek transference.

Yes, the word 'covenant' was added because the translators agreed the text implies it. Removing it from the sentence doesn't change the meaning of the sentence. And though Heb may be referring to the Melchizadek transference, it still doesn't read like Gerhard's version does.

I think I'm going to leave you guys to it. I don't recognise your exegesis. It doesn't 'match' what God has imparted to me. Sorry.

Man o man, the old covenant, the one mentioned in Heb 8:8-13 which had faults, which waxed old and was to soon disappear, is <<the one that was fulfilled by Jesus!>> What for?!

    Help us o God!

Where is the <match> to <<your exegesis>> of <<Hebrews 8:8-13>> of an <<Old Covenant>> I have been asking you for from the beginning?!

If <<Removing it from the sentence doesn't change the meaning of the sentence>>, why is the contextually supported translation (which I presented here) unacceptable to you? Because I not only <removed> the wrongly supplied word, 'covenant', but replaced it with the only fitting word in the context, "tabernacle", that's why.

Now why's that unacceptable to you? Because now you have no footing to stand on to from a safe distance launch your Quixote windmill long shots against the Sabbath. That's ALL, why!

Does not your KJV have "For if that first covenant had been faultless..." "covenant", cursive?

The context says it, And I said in which verses, word for word exactly.

The 'Covenant' cannot be a "place"; that is why the KJV omits the word "place", in order to replace it with its own substitute, 'covenant'.

The KJV in this place and case, is WRONG!

    Shucks ... that's ... harsh!

I just wonder, would Jesus have been so ... relentless?

Yes He indicated that every jot and tittle of the law is to be kept right down to the letter and Hebrew grammatical particles.

A "jot- yod" is the Hebrew letter "Y" and is the smallest letter in the Hebrew alphabet.

A tittle is a dot in the middle of a Hebrew letter which either intensifies the letter, doubles the letter or changes one letter into another letter and is call a Dagesh Fort or a Holem which is sometimes used as a Masoretic (scribes) vowel.

The law was given to show us our rebel nature of sin.

If we are born of the Spirit we are NOT under the law but are led of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Being led by the spirit means you keep the written and its true intent. There is no condemnation to anyone in such a state because they are in obedience.

The law was also given as a standard of righteousness. Anyone breaking it sins (1 john 3:4)

Being led by the Spirit means walking in step with the Spirit (Galatians). It means the Spirit has given the fruit (not plural, singular) to us so that we can walk in step with Him.

Jason, you keep wanting to obey the law apart from Yeshua, YHWH himself, and God the Spirit. You cannot do it. You fall short and your fall leaves you dead in your trespasses and sins. You have no hope following the path you are on.

You have a strong inability to read and/or twist what I have said to make yourself feel important.

I don't feel important at all. In fact, I know I am not important. Yeshua, YHWH himself, is important. Only he can redeem you from the curse the law has upon you. You are dead in your trespasses and sins, Jason. May Yeshua, YHWH himself, make you alive. He is your only hope.

Believe it or not Jason M is trying to help you put things in perspective RE: The Law versus Grace.

John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

The Law of Moses cannot bring life eternal (unless you keep it perfectly, every jot and tittle, one failure and it's over).

    Romans 7
9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

    David could not find peace:
    Psalm 119
1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

David complains to God in verse 5 that he was unable to keep His statutes.
In verse 6 he honestly admits he is ashamed that he cannot.

Only the grace and truth which comes through faith in Jesus Christ brings certainty of eternal life

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

When you fail call upon Him.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
