    I do remember getting one as a child (mid to late 70's I suppose). We were living in Marietta GA. They started having rocks at the Baptist Bookstore that had crosses.

    I did... and I have a story.

    There were two wealthy brothers living in Chicago and they loved to play jokes on each other. One year one of the brothers sent a 1-ton pet rock to his brother and had it left on his front lawn. When the other brothers birthday came around and he deposited 2 tons of pebbles on his brothers' lawn with a note saying his pet rock was pregnant and these are the babies. True story...
