not certain were to post this question

Does anyone know what equipment and what cost is involved in setting up a podcast system in a small church?

The idea is not just audio, but video, too.

It doesn't take much to get it going. Your computer is going to be the biggest factor, with internet speed a close second if you're broadcasting live.

Basically, all you need is a camera and a computer, and you're set. Obviously, there is more equipment to be gotten that can make you look and sound more professional. But just to get it going on a budget, all you need is a camera and computer. Even a webcam can work if it's high end.

Here's a link to one of the videos I did with minimal equipment (computer, cell phone, and a headset).

Also, your software will be different, depending on if you want to be live or pre-recorded.

I've heard good things about that. Personally, I use OBS, but I do a lot of screen capture.

We do just audio podcasts and I use Audacity for the editing, Amazon for the hosing and then we post it to the website. I'm JUST learning how to do it for one of our campuses so it takes me about 30 minutes total to do it all but once I've done it a bit, it should be a bit quicker. :) For video, I'm not sure what is best but there are great Facebook pages with people who can help you out. I'm on Visual Church Media and I notice a number of people talk about video and cameras and stuff. 登录 Facebook | Facebook

We used OBS back in May to live stream graduation. (It's a small rural 2-year college; live streaming *anything* is usually beyond budget. We've been exploring open source and freeware; getting them out of their "it's only good if you pay for it" mentality has been a challenge.)
