I have debated in my mind for several days whether I ought to make this post or not, and I have come to the conclusion that I should.

Last spring, Mrs. Rolf and I began attending a new church. It has been a breath of fresh air. Scripture makes sense in a way that it has not before. About this time, I began to question what I believe and why. Though I thought that I had satisfactory answers, I realized something: I have never known the Peace That Passes All Understanding. On the 9th/10th of this month, He showed me what was missing: repentance.

On October 10th, I came to an understanding of what I was and what I needed. In repentance and what faith I have, I called out to Jesus and He saved my soul. For the first time, I can say that I know what peace is. I now have two birthdays.

To those on this site, I apologize for being a fake. Admittedly, I did not realize that I was lost. I also apologize to anyone who is owed one for any offenses done. (Mods, especially for last month.)

And to those who were raised in Christian homes and who have never truly and thoroughly examined yourselves, please do. Exposure and knowledge are not enough. I was raised in a religious home and was taught to honor Christ. I thought that I knew Him, but I was fooled.

I have decided to take an indefinite break from this site. I am a baby in Christ, and I do not think it helpful to get into my old ways again.

    Cheers.
    Rolf

    Rolfe,
I am so happy to hear you've truly repented and trusted Jesus. Praise the Lord!

It's truly devastating to find out you're lost and need a Savior. I can only imagine the struggles you went through as the Holy Spirit enlightened your soul and pointed the Way to you. It took courage for you to post this.

To anyone else reading this--if you can't point to a specific date, or at least a specific time in your life where you had a truly mind, spirit, and soul changing encounter with Jesus where he changed your life, changed your way of thinking, set you on a new path, do as Rolfe suggests and examine yourself. Christianity is not inherited, it is not something you "grow into", you're not saved because you always considered yourself to be saved.

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God--Romans 8:16

The most dangerous place for a young person to grow up is in the Sunday School.

Wonderful Rolfe, but please stay. You had a head full of knowledge which the LORD has transformed into your heart and we need that Rolfe.
