"The Catholic church is going digital in Paris. The city’s diocese will introduce a system allowing contactless card payments during Sunday’s mass at Saint Francois de Molitor....The diocese explained Thursday that five connected collection baskets with a traditional design will be handed out to mass attenders during the service. They will choose on a screen the amount they want to donate — from 2 to 10 euros ($2.4 to $12.2) — and their payment will be processed in 'one second.' The diocese insisted 'this new gesture remains extremely close to the usual' one"

In the resurrection, will there be any need for e-money?

How do you tell if you have counterfeit e-money?

What was that mark of the beast again?

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Hassells' History of the Church of God: From the Creation to A. D. 1885; Including Especially the History of the Kehukee Primitive Baptist Association:

"wherever Missionary Societies, Bible Societies, Tract Societies, Sunday Schools,...and Theological Seminaries in America prevail, there the doctrine of Phariseeism (modernly called Arminianism) prevails, there the doctrine of saving the souls of men from sin and from hell by works which men may do for themselves and for each other prevails. There the mark of the Beast and there persecution prevail."

Everything is going as it was written.

Be ye ready and stedfast, brethren. The hour is about to come.

I haven't put money in a collection basket in my own church for years. In fact, we no longer pass a basket around. If anyone wants to give cash, there is a box at the back of the building.
I have a monthly standing order for my giving. Much simpler all round.

When Jesus comes back there will be no need for money as the whole Earth will be destroyed.

Mark of the Beast will occur before Jesus returns.

Yes, our church went the collection box route several years ago. I think it's much more efficient.

I have checks for two purposes: to pay the water bill and to give to the church. The church also has PayPal, but PayPal takes a cut, so I don't use it. Of course, anytime you pay by card there is also a fee that the merchant (or church) has to absorb.

We did attend a church that had PayPal, and I have to say that it made things much simpler.

Yes, it is simpler. It may be that ease of payment may offset the fees involved.

Just so you know: there is a security violation flag which shows up on your website. Not sure what the problem is--cyber gremlins perhaps..

    .
Same as in our church. We have been attending for over 20 years and they had a box on the wall each side near the doors. I was told that when it was first suggested, people said that the offering would reduce, but in fact it increased. We don't believe that we should ask visitors to give money, but they have the opportunity to do so if they wish.

About 25 years ago or more we went to a small church where the offering box was in a different room. When asked "Why?" the pastor said "The saints know where it is."

There is a large charismatic church near here where I am told they only have credit card readers passed around. The same person told me that once the pastor said "God has told me not to preach till I have got £2,500 in the offering and that 10 people would give £250." My friend said he soon got that and then they had a general offering.

Yes I got that as well. It is to do with "double click" something. I get it also on other sites I use regularly, It is caused by Ublock plus ad blocker. On my other laptop which uses a different ad blocker, I don't get that.

Makes me wonder if people increase their tithe % to cover the fees for "convenience".

The Scott Drive Church Exmouth site is fine. It is the marprelate.wordpress.com which is corrupted--apparently I am not the only one.

You have a good website at Scott Drive. It is refreshing to see what a real Christian meeting house might look like from the outside.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

I can get on with no trouble, and I've had 17 hits so far today. so I'm a bit puzzled. I'm off on holiday for a few days from tomorrow, but when I come back I'll PM you if I may and see whether there's still a problem.
Thanks! It's a blessed place! We're very small, but the word of God is preached there.
