So, someone please explain to me why it's illegal for a 19 year old to purchase alcohol but perfectly legal for him to buy an AR-15 with which to slaughter 17 of his former pupils and teachers?

I'd rather have it explained to me why the FBI dropped the ball.

As for your question, 19 year old adults have the same constitutional rights as everyone else.

Because under the Gun Control Act shotguns and rifles (and ammo for shotguns and rifles) may only be sold to those over 18 years of age. The purpose of these shotguns and rifles are for sport (sport shooting or hunting), not for killing people. At one age a young man could drink at 18 years of age. The practice has been deemed unwise and the age raised to 21.

Are you arguing that the young man who killed these people would have been mentally stable enough to purchase a gun if he had waited a year and a half?

No, I'm saying that, like here, no civilian should be allowed to purchase a semi-automatic weapon.

I'm sorry, Matt, but that is the dumbest thing I have ever read.

Virtually every modern firearm is semi-auto. Every pistol I own is semi-auto. Every rifle except one is semi-auto.

The idea of making every modern firearm illegal may work in the socialist country you are from but outlawing every modern firearm won't work here.

We are still a free people (mostly).

And, of course, we are not willing to have a violent crime rate 5 times higher than ours like you do.

Yes it does work here. Not sure why it doesn't work with you. Assault weapons? Seriously?

A friend of mine has come to the - to my mind accurate - conclusion that there are striking similarities between the NRA apologists and the proponents from sub-Saharan Africa of FGM: yes, the rest of us get that it's part of your culture and you're loathe to give it up but that doesn't stop us recoiling in disgust at the phenomenon. We just don't get a policy that places people's 'rights' above the lives of innocents time after time (the comparison between the right to bear arms and it's murderous consequences for the innocent amongst us and the woman's 'right to choose' are pretty obvious); we banned handguns in 1996 after Dunblane and haven't had a school massacre since whereas the Florida outrage is merely your latest one until...next month presumably. The fact that the gun apologists can treat the lives of innocent children with the same casual cavalier abandon as the abortionists is, frankly, beyond my comprehension as a Christian

    Really? Assault weapon???? :Roflmao

Every firearm is potentially an "assault weapon", even the flintlocks that drove the British from America.

You must have bought into the leftist screed that any semi automatic weapon that's black and has pistol grip, a magazine, and a flash suppressor is an "assault weapon", even if it's a BB gun.

    Ridiculously simple minded and ignorant.

Far more of those kids will die from alcohol abuse and being killed by drunk drivers than they will from gunfire.

Yes. Not allowing British Subjects to defend themselves has given you a violent crime rate 5 times higher than the US. How is that working for you?

Because we refuse to allow the criminals to dominate us.

Assault weapons in the hands of civilians have been illegal in the US since 1938.

Seriously. You might what to learn what you are talking about before talking.

Never happened, at least not in the way Main Stream Media portrays the events therein, but that is another long and lengthy thread, in the same line of the multitudes of evidences [given under FOIA, Freedom of Information Acts] Sandyhook [see Wolfgang Halbig*, Jim [James] Fetzer, etc], Boston Marathon, Fort Lauderdale Florida Airport, Orlando Night Club, France Nice, Jerusalem Truck, Las Vegas 2017, Turpins [ Turpin-time, the breakdown of Constitutional rights ], N.A.S.A.'s antics, ISS [green screening, water tanks], and Apollo Missions Men Landing on Moon, Mars Rover programs, Woolwich Lee Rigby Beheading, Seven Seven London, Nine-Eleven [was not Islam/Muslims at all], Oklahoma City, and even Waco Texas [though there was deep fault on both sides there, and would not defend Vernon Howell a minute] etc, etc. [Make no assumptions about what I believe, but ask for evidence, and I may at some point share].

Is there evidence for what I say? Truckloads. Documented. Official statements. Incident reports. Video. Papertrails. Etc. Senators, Committees, FBI, and so on.

But most will not bother to even read such things, or even look, and would rather just accept the given events. They will not even trust their own Bible about statements it makes in regards where sin is confined to after the Cross, and where man and satan cannot leave this planet, texts upon request. They would rather believe what they think theirs eyes and ears saw, by what a medium [media, is plural of medium], presented to them, with blinking flashing lights, normally in a dark room, with repetetive boilerplates, rather than believe God's naked word, about what is taking place even in this country, the united States of America and throughout.

They do not believe God's word which speaks of "confederacy" of wicked men in high places, nor of the "conspiracy" again His word [just type those two words into a KJB search]

2 Timothy 3:13 KJB - But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
Though, many think it is about a plot for mass gun-control [and it is partially so], yet it is way past that now.

This topic is not the Everlasting Gospel, but it does deal with prophecy, being presently fufilled.

PS. beware of the Jesuit run We are Change [Ordo Ab Chao, Order through Revolution] movements, we are warned:

Proverbs 24:21 KJB - My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:

So you don't mind if a hundred of them are run over by drunks or drink themselves to death to every 1 that is injured by gunfire? I wonder...do you drink? I believe alcohol consumption should be outlawed. It kills millions every year and destroy 10 times more lives than it kills.

Not the dumbest thing, by far. Nothing like being lectured on "assault weapons" by someone that has no idea what they are talking about.

You know what I mean by the term: it's commonly enough used. Your attempts at sophistry are unimpressive

A needlessly binary comment that dodges the issue

Really? I thought the issue was killing kids.

A little perspective for an anti gun nut is never welcome. We all understand this.

Quite well, because the stats are bogus: I don't have to fear that when I send my kids to school that they'll be shot up by some nutter with a semi-automatic assault rifle.

By allowing seventeen kids and their teachers to lose their lives. Right...

    Carpro disagrees with you there.
