The facts as seen around the world are very simple. The USA, like no other country, has the highest number of mass murder, especially in their schools, where young kids have access to weapons to murder. You might not like this, but this is FACT. I also hear that in many Churches, workers carry guns, because here too there has been an increase in people being murdered. Another fact, because of your "right to arms", millions of weapons to commit murder have fallen in to the wrong hands, and it is not far too late to do anything about it. The ONLY hope is that more people get converted and become true followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We were dealing with “Sin” both then and now. Just the thought of committing murder will probably eventually become actual / physical murder... that is the true violent instrument(weapon) not a machine loaded with gun power projectiles.

 

In Indiana, when you buy a gun, the shop owner takes your ID and runs it through a check before he takes your money. The check is to determine if you have any felony convictions for one thing and I don't know what else.

 

In NJ, you gotta get a permit which requires BRC by your local police, your State Police, the FBI....and maybe your mother. That entitles you to go and shop and buy, however it takes time. I didn’t say that that entitles you to carry, or hunt... only purchase. BTW there is a time restriction and a quantity restriction imposed as well.

 

Do they ask your race, if you are a Vet etc?

 

And in this day and age there are many more violent people running around who won't hesitate to assault or kill you - even in your own home. While I can respect your heeding of Jesus's words to "turn the other cheek", most of us would rather have the means to effectively protect ourselves and our families.

Turn the other cheek - indicates a non-life threatening confrontation.
