The heart of the matter with. Reformed oriented view is the mixing and confusing of the gospels of the NT. A covenant / unified position makes all gospels the same. The text and words of Scripture clearly differentiate between the gospel of the kingdom ( repent,be baptized, bring fruit) and the simple message of Acts 16:31. Other gospels include that of glory (2 Cor 4:4 - for saved men) and future renewal of kingdom messages as the age draws to a close.

Gal 1:6-9 says there is in fact only one Gospel
Gal 3:8 says that Gospel was preached to Abraham
Jer 31:31-33 contains the same Gospel seen in Hebrews 8:6-10

It provides forgiveness of sins, change of heart and adoption into the family of God

That's the confusion I speak of. Guess Israel and the church are one and the same. Find justification by grace through faith in Acts 2 and 3 and get back to me. Maybe I am in error here. Is this the Reformed Baptist board discussion room?

    1. I am Seventh-day Adventist (more like a Seventh-day Baptist than many have supposed on these C-vs-A points)

    2. Justification by Grace through faith is seen in Acts 2 by the fact that they are charged with killing the Son of God and all they have to do is accept the Gospel - repent and be baptized ... not exactly the way someone "earns their way" back into favor with a parent after killing their child.

The gospel, by definition, is news. It is good news, not good advice. The confusion is on your end and demonstrated in your post, though in your defense, it is a very common error, and the Apostle Paul had much to say regarding it.
