There are Baptist churches that have Easter Egg hunt as an outreach. Locally there is one church that has hundreds show up. I am not aware of of how successful this church is in getting people to attend services.

So where do your church stand on such activities?

I knew it be a "reformed" Baptist church because of the sloppy dress of the kids and adults a like.

One in my town has an Easter egg hunt as an outreach. I went a few years ago to check it our. The pastor did an excellent job presenting the gospel message. It actually proved successful in reaching several for the kingdom (although I am not sure how many joined that church).

The Lutheran church seems to have success reaching the unchurched as well (they use it as an outreach).

I miss the days our churches held the for the kids. Legalism set in before my son was born.

We've got an egg hunt scheduled at our church -uggh

Point 1 - There's strong biblical evidence that Moses, the prophets, as well as Jesus and the Apostles searched for Easter eggs .... I just can't seem to find the chapter and verse today

Point 2 - Rabbits (and particularly rabbits that lay eggs) have a strong religious connection to the resurrection. Everybody know that!

Point 3 - Many people meet our Savior after eating just one contaminated Easter egg.

    Rob

Yes an unusual quirk in evolution (oops) that some rabbits can lay eggs!

Actually our church does it for the kids and the community.

Personally, I approve if some of the eggs the rabbits have laid are chocolate.

My son's ministry (inner city in Obamaland) used it to show the neighborhood that the church is alive and functioning (after building was dormant for years). Well attended, but not "evangelistic" per se, just a "promotion".

When our present church was just starting and we met in a home with 4-5 families with LOTS of kids, the host family did this for a fun activity for kids on Easter while ladies were fixing lunch. Kids enjoyed it. Groundhog did not see his shadow

Yeah, best to avoid the big tray of egg salad sandwiches at post-Easter church potlucks.

    Deviled eggs indeed:

This year is a win win situation.

Easter is on April fools day. So you don't really have to hide the eggs, only tell the kids you did and let them hunt.

I don't think many, if any, of our church folks object to kids hunting eggs as a social amusement, but we don't mix it in with our church activities.

Sad. The bunny is much more Christ-like than the couple in the car, and all bunny is doing is waving to people.

I wonder if Evangelist6589 told that lady to go chase and yell at that bunny?

The church I attend has them although I disagree with and do not support the practice. I support keeping things pure and not mixing in pagan practices which tend to confuse even claimed believers. Also such practices teach the children, as well as adults, it is alright to lie if it satisfies the flesh.
