You know who was really anti-science? Jesus. He had the audacity to do miracles. That's about as anti-science as you can get.

Our manned space program has been going downhill ever since the 70's. The shuttle was the last manned space vehicle we designed and built and it was an 1970 design. I know because I worked for a NASA contractor who supported it. We kept patching it up but still it was out of date. president Obama made the right move because it was old and unsafe. he also funded the Orion program which will be the next deep space vehicle.

Science and religion are two different things. That's your problem. You don't make that distinction. Science deals with the seen and verifiable. Religion deals with things that can only be understood through faith which are unseen things. God created the universe for man to explore and learn about. He also created the true scientific laws which we only have minor knowledge about. The miracles Jesus performed do not refute science. They stand along side it.

The current Orion project is a glorified Apollo capsule.

The original Orion, "Old Bang Bang" was cancelled in 1963. (I worked for General Atomics on some of their later classified projects.)

I agree that science and religion are different. But I would point out something, just as a historical backdrop for context and perspective. Historically science developed in the Western world after Christianity, and through the minds of Catholic thinkers. I think there was a reason for this, and history does tell us the story, so we don't need to say how it must have been or must be. I'm not making an axiomatic argument here. I'm just describing what the historical record shows.

The historical record shows that Catholic thinkers laid the foundations for the eventual development of the scientific method as we know it. For example, Aristotle was smart and catalogued many things we see in biology. Yet he was no scientist. Why not? Because he thought he could know everything through Reason. He did not have the humility to think he may need to test, test, and test again. Christian thought introduced some humility and curiosity. Humility because of introducing more doubt and less confidence in human reason. Following from that was the curiosity to find out the truth by testing, testing, and testing again.

Even before the time of men like Francis Bacon there were earlier thinkers who were developing the schools of thought that would later enable the scientific method to emerge. One of them was Ockam, the same one of "Ockam's Razor" fame. He started to develop empirical and experimental thought and not only reasoning about "Natural Law" in the way that the ancients had done, relying solely upon "Reason" that you can be confident in only because of axiomatic type thinking.

Scripture tells us to test all things, although of course this is spiritual advice and not talking about the scientific method. Nonetheless the "test, test and test again" attitude of the scientific method is certainly compatible with advice to "test all things".

I'm not arguing so much as expanding :)

I don't know if she's a false prophet, but I do think that global warming is used by people who really are false prophets, and I mean high level and powerful New Age thinkers who are influential at the UN level. I think some of these people are who are New Agers are sheeple, while others are wolves in sheeps' clothing :)

I don't know if she is a New Ager or not. Possibly she just finds it preposterous that we could be told such a Big Lie by those who are the gate keepers of the Official View. So she believes it. It takes a lot of hours to step through all the evidence -- dozens if not hundreds. Most people will choose who they trust rather than do all that study.

For many years I believed in Global Warming and also the Population Bomb. Later I learned that the gate keepers of the Official View are wrong about certain things that I happen to know a lot about. So it made me more willing to entertain the idea that they could be wrong about other things, too -- even things I don't know as much about. If somebody has never had that experience, it may be difficult to doubt what they are being told.

More Leftist Fraud: NOAA Fudged Temperature Data to Pretend US Is Warming

More Leftist Fraud: NOAA Fudged Temperature Data to Pretend US Is Warming

March 20, 2018 by Jim Hoft 2 Comments

    It was all a hoax.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the US Department of Commerce fudged their numbers to pretend the world was warming.

The US government agency pushed this fraud so leftists could make money off of Chinese windmills and solar panels and the US government could put oil and coal workers out of business.

This ranks up there, next to the Russia collusion hoax as one of the most devastating lies perpetrated by the American left.

    Real Climate Science reported:

NOAA’s US temperature record shows that US was warmest in the 1930’s and has generally cooled as CO2 has increased. This wrecks greenhouse gas theory, so they “adjust” the data to make it look like the US is warming.

The NOAA data tampering produces a spectacular hockey stick of scientific fraud, which becomes the basis of vast amounts of downstream junk climate science.

These climate fraudsters should be jailed for life or sent to northern Alaska with only a sled dog and an axe.
The northeastern US is preparing for its latest Nor’easter. The snow blast is expected to bury New York City in 15 inches of snow.

Deceit, lying and fraud are all to common within our government departments for local to national. Does not bode well for our national survival. Soon enough, we will be unable to claim to be a free-people with any credibility. Hope our "diverse" society can stop the slide.

One of the reasons I've been praying earnestly for my country that last few years. Things seem as intense as I've ever seen them.

One reason might be the fact that we're on the verge of turning the Supreme Court conservative for the first time in 50 years. If Kennedy retires this summer, we'll have a pro-life court and a pro-marriage court. Is this riling up the devil? Is this the true reason behind this effort to remove Trump?

This opinion betrays a profound lack of understanding of both science and miracles.

What a nice sentiment! You assert that those who oppose President Trump's dishonesty, incompetence, potential treason, probable obstruction of justice, and his unrepentant embrace of a lifestyle that is the antithesis of the Sermon on the Mount and the fruit of the Spirit are in league with the devil.

You are very close to calling evil, "good", and good, "evil."

Think about it BB. The greatest holocaust in world history. 60 millions babies murdered just in the US just since RvW in the last 45 years. Triple the number of murders Stalin committed. The numbers are even more staggering worldwide. Truly a holocaust. And you're focus is taking out the President on the verge of ending it. You don't think it's possible you've been duped by the devil?

Science deals with the material world. It is a disciplined practice of observation, hypotheses, testing, and theories to explain the usual order of things to provide understanding and mastery of them.

Miracles involve the work of God both in spiritual, physical, and perhaps unknown planes. Miracles do not conflict with science, even when they involve manipulation, creation or removal of material substances.

To say that Jesus was/is "really anti-science" is just ridiculous in both terms of science and miracles.

    (1) What is President Trump doing to end abortion that Vice President Pence is opposed to doing? Remember, there is a Vice President who will assume office if Trump has to leave.
    (2) Is Paul Ryan pro-abortion? He is next in line if Vice President Pence cannot take on or continue the Presidency.
    (3) I don't think that concern about abortion is justification for destroying our Christian witness to support someone who is the antithesis of what Jesus has called us to be. It is like the Jewish leadership claiming "We have no other King but Caesar!"
    (4) Overturning of Roe v. Wade will not end abortion. It is a good step, but it's a fantasy to believe that changing laws will end abortion.

If miracles don't conflict with science then they would be scientifically validated and disproved. Something with a scientific explanation cannot be classified as a miracle. They would also not be a good testimony, being scientifically explained.

Just out of curiosity, do you believe in evolution or millions of years?

Is Mike Pense someone you would support? It's interesting because the whole reason Pence is there is because of Trump. Pence supports Trump. He likes Trump. Does that change the way you feel about Pence?

Science is a tool of understanding/knowledge. Since can be used to verify whether or not material things have been altered, created, or removed. However, science is not the only tool of understanding/knowledge.

I do not agree with that assertion. It presupposes that the acts of God, as well as the results of the actions of God, cannot be observed or verified.

Miracles only occasionally inspire true belief/trust in God. The children of Israel saw miracle after miracle, but they rejected God and spent 40 years in the wilderness as a result. The history of Judaism is a roller coaster of belief and unbelief, with acts of God (miracles) as part of the religious culture.

People even witnessed the resurrection Lord Jesus and doubted. And that's not a Jewish thing, that's a human thing.

It is obvious that the universe - including the earth - is quite old in human terms.

I don't know about Mike Pense, but I assume you mean the Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence.

No, I'm not a fan of Mike Pence.

But that's irrelevant to the point I was making that Donald Trump is not the only hope to end abortion. Your argument was that if Donald Trump goes, then apparently no one would nominate an anti-abortion Supreme Court Justice. And that's simply foolish, since there is an order of succession. Therefore you can oppose the actions of President Trump while not risking future Supreme Court nominations.

Yes, Trump needed someone to make him more palatable to white evangelicals.

No. I think Pence has poor judgment.
