    Yes, it does. I think that Jesus is telling His Disciples not to get over concerned about dates and times, which really do not matter, unless the Lord has chosen to revel this to us in His Word.

    Scripture does tell us when Jesus began his ministry and how long it lasted so we can place the date within a range of a couple of years. We know that the Jews and Romans executed Him just before Passover. I think that Scripture gives us a great deal of historical information. We have Pilate's name, etc.

    However, we cannot predict future dates, because Armageddon, Inc., a.k.a. The Watchtower Society has been trying that since the 19th century.

    Deuteronomy 29:29 KJB - The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

    correct, so if the Lord has not given us dates in the Bible, it is because He does not want us to have them.

    The dates are given:

    Luke 3:1 KJB - Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,

    Daniel 9:24 KJB - Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

    Daniel 9:25 KJB - Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

    Ezra 6:14 KJB - And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

    Ezra 7:7 KJB - And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
    Daniel 9:26 KJB - And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

    Daniel 9:27 KJB - And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

    Hebrews 2:3 KJB - How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

    Daniel 8:13 KJB - Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

    Daniel 8:14 KJB - And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
    Leviticus 23:34 KJB - Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.

    Leviticus 23:35 KJB - On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

    Leviticus 23:36 KJB - Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.

    John 1:14 KJB - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
    Luke 1:5 KJB - There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

    1 Chronicles 24:10 KJB - The seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,

    1 Chronicles 24:19 KJB - These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.

    Luke 2:4 KJB - And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

    Luke 2:7 KJB - And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

    Luke 3:23 KJB - And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,

    Mark 1:15 KJB - And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

    etc.
    Jesus knew the exact timing for everything [Ecclesiastes 3], for his baptism [water and Spirit, thus becomes the Messiah], and even the very hour, day, month and year of His death.

    Yes, he is, even the Son of the Father, but you do not understand what Jesus 'laid aside' [still had it, thus I and the Father are one [at-one-ment, plural person together in thought, etc], but chooses not to use, since to fulfill the plan of redemption, Jesus must live as a man lives, reliant upon God the Father, not self, and thus was the point upon which Satan tempted Christ Jesus in the wildenress to not rely upon the will of the Father, but to use His own inherent powers, Christ Jesus refused, He relied upon "It is written..."] to take upon himself the fallen sinful flesh of mankind. Jesus did not rely upon His own omniscience. He relied upon His Father, through the Holy Spirit [just as Peter in Acts 5, received knowledge of the hearts and condition of Ananias and Sapphira, or others of future events], and that which He Himself had inspired in the written word.

    Philippians 2:5 KJB - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

    Philippians 2:6 KJB - Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

    Philippians 2:7 KJB - But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

    Philippians 2:8 KJB - And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

    Luke 2:52 KJB - And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

    John 6:57 KJB - As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

    Colossians 1:19 KJB - For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

    Hebrews 2:7 KJB - Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

    Hebrews 2:8 KJB - Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

    Hebrews 2:9 KJB - But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
    Jesus was told who He was by the Father, under inspriation and filling of the Holy Spirit:

    Luke 3:22 KJB - And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
    All power was given by the Father, through the Holy Spirit [like as unto the Dragon [mis-representing the Father] giving the Anti-Christ beast [mis-representing the Son], all power, authority, even working miracles through the second beast [mis-representing the Spirit], etc. in Revelation 13 KJB..]:

    Matthew 28:18 KJB - And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
    For instance:

    Revelation 1:1 KJB - The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

    Revelation 2:11 KJB - He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
    The Father and Son, and Holy Spirit, had laid the plan of redemption from Eternity.

    Many understand this:

    "... Point after point Paul lingered over, in order that those who should read his epistle might fully comprehend the wonderful condescension of the Saviour in their behalf. Presenting Christ as He was when equal with God and with Him receiving the homage of the angels, the apostle traced His course until He had reached the lowest depths of humiliation. Paul was convinced that if they could be brought to comprehend the amazing sacrifice made by the Majesty of heaven, all selfishness would be banished from their lives. He showed how the Son of God had laid aside His glory, voluntarily subjecting Himself to the conditions of human nature, and then had humbled Himself as a servant, becoming obedient unto death, "even the death of the cross" (Philippians 2:8), that He might lift fallen man from degradation to hope and joy and heaven. ..." - Acts of the Apostles, page 333.1

    "... The work of redemption is called a mystery, and it is indeed the mystery by which everlasting righteousness is brought to all who believe. The race in consequence of sin was at enmity with God. Christ, at an infinite cost, by a painful process, mysterious to angels as well as to men, assumed humanity. Hiding His divinity, laying aside His glory, He was born a babe in Bethlehem. In human flesh He lived the law of God, that He might condemn sin in the flesh, and bear witness to heavenly intelligences that the law was ordained to life and to ensure the happiness, peace, and eternal good of all who obey. But the same infinite sacrifice that is life to those who believe is a testimony of condemnation to the disobedient, speaking death and not life (MS 29, 1899). ..." - Manuscript 29, 1899

    "... But although Christ's divine glory was for a time veiled and eclipsed by His assuming humanity, yet He did not cease to be God when He became man. The human did not take the place of the divine, nor the divine of the human. This is the mystery of godliness. The two expressions "human" and "divine" were, in Christ, closely and inseparably one, and yet they had a distinct individuality. Though Christ humbled Himself to become man, the Godhead was still His own. His deity could not be lost while He stood faithful and true to His loyalty. Surrounded with sorrow, suffering, and moral pollution, despised and rejected by the people to whom had been intrusted the oracles of heaven, Jesus could yet speak of Himself as the Son of man in heaven. He was ready to take once more His divine glory when His work on earth was done. {5BC 1129.3}

    There were occasions when Jesus stood forth while in human flesh as the Son of God. Divinity flashed through humanity, and was seen by the scoffing priests and rulers. Was it acknowledged? Some acknowledged that He was the Christ, but the larger portion of those who upon these special occasions were forced to see that He was the Son of God, refused to receive Him. Their blindness corresponded to their determined resistance of conviction. {5BC 1129.4}

    When Christ's indwelling glory flashed forth, it was too intense for His pure and perfect humanity entirely to conceal. The scribes and Pharisees did not speak in acknowledgment of Him, but their enmity and hatred were baffled as His majesty shone forth. The truth, obscured as it was by a veil of humiliation, spoke to every heart with unmistakable evidence. This led to the words of Christ, "Ye know who I am." Men and devils were compelled, by the shining forth of His glory, to confess, "Truly, this is the Son of God." Thus God was revealed; thus Christ was glorified (ST May 10, 1899). {5BC 1129.5}

    Christ left His position in the heavenly courts, and came to this earth to live the life of human beings. This sacrifice He made in order to show that Satan's charge against God is false--that it is possible for man to obey the laws of God's kingdom. Equal with the Father, honored and adored by the angels, in our behalf Christ humbled Himself, and came to this earth to live a life of lowliness and poverty--to be a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Yet the stamp of divinity was upon His humanity. He came as a divine Teacher, to uplift human beings, to increase their physical, mental, and spiritual efficiency. {5BC 1129.6}

    There is no one who can explain the mystery of the incarnation of Christ. ..." - 5th Volume, Bible Commentary, SDA, 1129.3 - 1129.6

    "... Before the foundations of the world were laid, Christ, the Only Begotten of God, pledged Himself to become the Redeemer of the human race, should Adam sin. Adam fell, and He who was partaker of the Father's glory before the world was, laid aside His royal robe and kingly crown, and stepped down from His high authority to become a Babe in Bethlehem, that by passing over the ground where Adam stumbled and fell, He might redeem fallen human beings. He subjected Himself to all the temptations that the enemy brings against men and women; and all the assaults of Satan could not make Him swerve from His loyalty to the Father. By living a sinless life He testified that every son and daughter of Adam can resist the temptations of the one who first brought sin into the world. {1SM 226.1}

    Christ brought men and women power to overcome. He came to this world in human form, to live a man amongst men. He assumed the liabilities of human nature, to be proved and tried. In His humanity He was a partaker of the divine nature. In His incarnation He gained in a new sense the title of the Son of God. Said the angel to Mary, "The power of the Highest shall overshadow

    227

    thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God" (Luke 1:35). While the Son of a human being, He became the Son of God in a new sense. Thus He stood in our world--the Son of God, yet allied by birth to the human race. {1SM 226.2}

    Christ came in human form to show the inhabitants of the unfallen worlds and of the fallen world that ample provision has been made to enable human beings to live in loyalty to their Creator. He endured the temptations that Satan was permitted to bring against Him, and resisted all his assaults. He was sorely afflicted, and hard beset, but God did not leave Him without recognition. When He was baptized of John in Jordan, as He came up out of the water, the Spirit of God, like a dove of burnished gold, descended upon Him, and a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:17). It was directly after this announcement that Christ was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. Mark says: "Immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness. And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts" (Mark 1:12, 13). "And in those days he did eat nothing" (Luke 4:2). {1SM 227.1}

    Meeting Temptation

    When Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted, He was led by the Spirit of God. He did not invite temptation. He went to the wilderness to be alone, to contemplate His mission and work. By fasting and prayer He was to brace Himself for the bloodstained path He was to travel. How should He begin His work of freeing the captives held in torment by the destroyer? During His long fast, the whole plan of His work as man's deliverer was laid out before Him. {1SM 227.2} ..." - 1 Selected Messages, 226.1- 227.2

    What if I told you, that though you cannot know the exact "time" ["season"] yet, but that you can know the events that lead up to it?

    Also, the phrase, "But of that day and hour knoweth [to make known to others, see 1 Corinthians 2:2 KJB - For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.; which is why Jesus could say "neither the Son" [Mark 13:32 KJB], as Jesus will not make it known, but leaves it to the Father to do] no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.", as stated by Jesus, does not say, that we will never know, and Jesus would not reveal it [though He knows it], since the Father Himself, has chosen, that after the close of probation, He will speak forth the time by His own voice, as that previous quotation reveals:

    Acts 1:7 KJB - And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
    We can know the events in their order:

    Matthew 24:32 KJB - Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

    Matthew 24:33 KJB - So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

    Matthew 24:34 KJB - Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
    What generation? The last generation, that has seen all those things, most of which have already happened.

    The voice of the Father, announcing the day and hour after probation has closed:

    5. Voice of God announcing the hour; Jeremiah 25:30; Joel 2:11, 3:16; Amos 1:2; Job 40:9; Psalms 18:13, 77:18, 104:7; 1 Samuel 2:10; 2 Samuel 22:14; Matthew 24:36; Mark 13:32; John 12:29; 2 Peter 1:17-18; Revelation 14:2; &c

    {Great Controversy; Page 640}

    "... The voice of God is heard from heaven, declaring the day and hour of Jesus’ coming, and delivering the everlasting covenant to His people. Like peals of loudest thunder His words roll through the earth. The Israel of God stand listening, with their eyes fixed upward. Their countenances are lighted up with His glory, and shine as did the face of Moses when he came down from Sinai. The wicked cannot look upon them. And when the blessing is pronounced on those who have honored God by keeping His Sabbath holy, there is a mighty shout of victory. ..." - Ellen G. White Writings

    Consider, we can know the events:

    The "great tribulation" in Matthew 24 ... Do you see any importance in the Matthew 24:3 KJB vs questions?

    Here is how I understand it, in brief:

    ... Afterwards, then follows several signs in the earth/heaven itself, namely, "shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven ...", which is paralleled in several other verses, namely:

    [1,290, AD 508 unto AD 1798]
    Daniel 12:11 KJB - "... a thousand two hundred and ninety days."

    [1,335, AD 508 unto AD 1843/44]
    Daniel 12:12 KJB - "Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days."
    Revelation 14:13 KJB - "... Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth ..."

    [70 Weeks, 62 + 7 + 1 [1/2 + 1/2], 457 BC unto AD 27 [Baptism], unto AD 31 [Cross], unto AD 34 [Stephen], then the remaining 1810, unto AD 1843/44]

    Revelation 9:5 KJB - "... five months ..."
    Revelation 9:6 KJB - "... those days ..."

    Scripture says that we are in the last days but we do not know what day will be the last day.

    We do know what year Jesus began his public ministry because Scripture and ancient Roman records tell us.

    I agree with: "Scripture says that we are in the last days but we do not know what day will be the last day ...", except I will add the word "... yet.", at the end.

    I agree with: "We do know what year Jesus began his public ministry because Scripture and ancient Roman records tell us."

    Let me know what you think of the pevious post - April 3, AD 33.

    Jesus was born between 6-4 B.C. and about 30 years later He would have commenced His earthly Ministry. After about 3 and a half years He was crucified. I really don't know, and neither does anyone else, as there are many "experts" who disagree. This is not all that important, as it falls into the category of speculative theology, and secondary. It obviously interests some...

    could the Ministry of Jesus Christ have started when He was closer to 40 years old, than 30, and lasted well over the assumed 3-4 years? We have NT data that can agree with this. Look at the Jews question to Jesus in John 8:57; "“You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?" Jesus could have been 45 years old here?

    You said, "Yes, he is, even the Son of the Father, but you do not understand what Jesus 'laid aside' ". How do you know if I don't understand this? Have you asked me, or have I commented on this on BB?

    No:

    Luke 3:21 KJB - Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

    Luke 3:22 KJB - And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

    Luke 3:23 KJB - And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,

    Also consider the geneology in Matthew and Luke, to help determine the time as well, though a bit more complicated route.

    so what of John 8:57? I am showing that it is not at all easy to determine from what we know, easily the years of Jesus' birth and death. As we read in Luke 3:23, "When He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was about thirty years of age", which can mean anything between 27-33, or more.

    You are blind in a portion of your eye, please allow me to assist you to the portion unread, please read "... Jesus himself began to be ..."

    Jesus is the greater priest, and in order for Him to fulfill that, 30 years of age:

    Numbers 4:3 KJB - From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.

    Numbers 4:23 KJB - From thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shalt thou number them; all that enter in to perform the service, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.

    Numbers 4:30 KJB - From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old shalt thou number them, every one that entereth into the service, to do the work of the tabernacle of the congregation.

    Numbers 4:35 KJB - From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation:

    Numbers 4:39 KJB - From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation,
    Jesus is the greater David:

    2 Samuel 5:4 KJB - David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

    1 Kings 2:11 KJB - And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.

    Jeremiah 30:9 KJB - But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

    Ezekiel 34:23 KJB - And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.

    Ezekiel 34:24 KJB - And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.

    Ezekiel 37:24 KJB - And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

    Ezekiel 37:25 KJB - And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.

    Hosea 3:5 KJB - Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
    Jesus is the greater Joseph - 3 Days & 3 Nights; & the Last Week of Jesus, Trials, Crucifixion, Death, Burial, Res. :

    Genesis 41:46 KJB - And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.
