You mean like Hezekiah as described in Isaiah 38?

Its kind of like asking vAn God make a rock so big He can't pick it up?".

In Gods foreknowledge, He knew what decisions we would make.

They're just north of South Carolina, and they're there because God drove them out...just north of Eden (Genesis 3, SC version). :)

Would He approve of suicide? There is no doubt he knows it's going to happen

“Just as no one has power over the wind to restrain it, so no one has power over the day of his death. Just as no one can be discharged during the battle, so wickedness cannot rescue the wicked.” (Ecclesiastes 8:8) (NET)

Not at all, if you teach God anything new, his knowledge was not true, nor perfect.

God used the threat of death to move Hezekiah into a good relationship and then healed him. If a doctor tells you to place a lump of figs on a wound or else you will die, would you comply?

Jesus left us an example to follow.

“For to this you were called, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving an example for you to follow in his steps. He committed no sin nor was deceit found in his mouth. When he was maligned, he did not answer back; when he suffered, he threatened no retaliation, but committed himself to God who judges justly.” (1 Peter 2:21–23) (NET)

Plus, there is not one instance of any NT believer defending themselves violently.

How can God be God if you determine what happens to you? “Surely, no one knows his appointed time! Like fish that are caught in a deadly net, and like birds that are caught in a snare— just like them, all people are ensnared at an unfortunate time that falls upon them suddenly.” (Ecclesiastes 9:12) (NET)

If self defense was so abhorrent, why would Jesus use a parable about a strong, armed man?

    When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe;
    Luke 11:21

Does the New Testament negate verses commanding protection of the weak and needy?

Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Psalms 82:4

My first guess would be to communicate spiritual truth to our carnal minds?

That's one way to look at it.

I was commenting on your statement:
If God knows all, we certainly have an unchangeable date with death. If we can change that, God is not God not knowing all.

The fact is that Hezekiah had a date with death set by God. God changed that after Hezekiah pleaded with him.

    No.

God didn't tell Hezekiah to do anything. Hezekiah prayed and was broken in front of God. God said, "I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life."

“In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.” (2 Kings 20:1) (KJV 1900)

“Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord.” (2 Kings 20:5) (KJV 1900)

This happens every day when God heals us.

“And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” (James 5:15) (KJV 1900)

    Yes, so?

Hezekiah DID have a date with death. It WAS changed because Hezekiah petitioned God about it. God DID know all about it. So your statement:

If God knows all, we certainly have an unchangeable date with death. If we can change that, God is not God not knowing all.

    is in error.

I'm told of a Centurion who was a man great faith. Bet that sword was out a time or two.

But you've already been presented with the eminently Scriptural case for the Christian ownership and wielding of weapons in defense of their own lives, and the lives of others. The fact of the matter is that you simply interested in pushing your Socialist agenda, and trying to make it sound like Christianity.
