The Church ignores Mark 16:15? Huh?

California could very well be one of the most hostile and dangerous mission fields in the world.

California has access to The Gospel. They have The Bible, Churches, internet, Tv, etc.

That didn't hinder Paul and his companions from going to Macedonia.
And are you praying for a Great Awakening here? Are you suggesting the state should be evangelized by remote means tv, radio, internet, etc?

I am suggesting that California has The Gopel preached to them by many means. They refuse to hear it.

The same can be said for a lot of other mission fields. So? Who are we to write the State off? Are you at least praying for those of us who are seeking to bring light into the darkness?

Any and all of "today's evangelicals" covered by the Blood of Jesus Christ are excluded. Praise be to God for His mercy.

I pray for missions in general. The only missionaries I regularly pray for specifically are two of my friends in Guatemala that I financially support.

I think many do yes... which should disqualify them as a true church of Christ.

Brother my heart goes out to you, I hear what you are saying as I know my own area is in need... God will provide though. Our brother Tyndale lives there, both he and his wife are active... you are there also, so Christ is present. Hold down the fort.

Maybe so. I've never heard anyone preach the gospel to spiders before.

Truly I tell you that the prostitutes and the tax collectors are getting into heaven before you... I wonder who reached out to them.

Not being snarky, just don't quite understand your question.

Let me attempt to clarify: if you are a believer in and follower of Christ Jesus, we are commanded to preach the Gospel, literally the "Good News" of redemption and salvation, and make disciples.

"And he said to them, 'Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.'" Mark 16:15, ESV

Humans being human, we tend to only share the Good News with those who already look, talk and act as we do.

We tend to, like Jonah, see people worthy of condemnation, instead of a mission ordained by God.

And we are quick to forget that apart from the work of Christ, and not of our own merits, we are also worthy only of condemnation.

And that is exactly what I’m referring to... a resistance to going out to others, particularly when we are commanded to do so. My point is that if a church is content to be complacent, can they truly self identify as a Christian church... personally they should rename it the ‘church of me’

My own church is working on this issue right now.

I think if we take a really HARD look at our own sins, both before and since we were saved, that makes it a lot easier to remember that redemption is an act of the Holy Spirit, and that no one is beyond the reach of the Living God.

Some the comments in this thread are disturbing, and to me, indicate that some of the commenters have poor understandings of both the Law and of Grace.

Do you think that most of the people coming into the church are even saved? Then are they being discipled so they can go out into the world? In my neck of the woods, I have searched and searched for such a church and the search has turned up empty so I conclude this to be a void area.

I don't have a great answer to that question, not at all.

What's extremely problematic is that most of the disturbing comments in this thread and indeed on this forum, have come from people who have professed Christ for most of their lives, and still have at best a rudimentary understanding of Grace viz a viz their own sin.

As to your situation, I can safely, and in love say that sometimes, we have to be the change we want to see.

It's neither biblically supported nor practical for your sanctification to be apart from a local, New Testament church, and by introducing yourself and your witness, you necessarily change the dynamics within that body.

There are no perfect churches on this side of eternity.
