Not your Daddy's Boy Scouts any longer!

This is definitely NOT your daddy's or even your granddaddy's Boy Scouts!? Just what in the wide world of boy scouting is going on with Sir Baden Powell's dream?

It wasn't even a year ago that they began permitting gay adult leaders into the role of scout leader. Then they change their membership policy for kids, permitting gay or transsexual, transgender boys into their packs and troops. And as sooon as the dust began to clear from those major domino's falling after more then a hundred years of being "morally straight" they kicked over another domino when they opened scouting to girls and changed their organizations name to.Scouts BSA.

Now today I read that they will begin making condoms available at major event gatherings. I guess that means their oath to teach boys to be "morally straight" is all but over?

I grew up in a day and age where moraally straight meant no fooling around before marriage, and I appreciated their teachings and grooming, as I grew up to be a young man that waited until marriage to have sex. However, offering and making condoms available to their members, in my mind, signals to the kids that sexual activities are a possiblity so protect yourself and partner by usinga condom. This does not promote the "morally straight" portion of their long time oath, so I can only guess that the next domino to fall within this one time stellar organization is to do a rewrite of the Scout oath and laws, omitting the words morally straight, to something about protect yourself and partner if you falter in remaining chaste?!

Yes sirree, this is not my daddy's Boy Scouts of America any longer, and for me, that is morally shameful!

So, how do you feel about the new SCOUTS-BSA? And more importantly, if your church is sponsoring a Cub pack or Scout troop, what are your plans for continuing with such worldly entanglements?
