    Strange waste of time if the local church is autonomous.


    But, if that local pastor needs to find direction from others, then they will attend.

    Even "Independent Fundamental Baptists" have get-togethers! Jack Hyles was often the guest speaker at the gatherings thur out the Country.

    To watch the Convention self-destruct over all the dirty politics being played in the past couple months? (All in preparation for the Convention is my guess.)

    I've wanted to know why the annual meeting is only two days, compared to three back in the days of all the uproar in the 80s and before?

    Could be finances - not only for the SBC itself, but for messengers as well - hotel, meals, ect.
