The Cuban Studies Institute, a Florida Think Tank, has release an excellent and informative analysis and description of the members of the Cuban politburo. Raul and his cohorts are getting to be very old and their ages look like a nursing home roster. So who will take over when Raul kicks the bucket?

I think that the sleeper is Raul's son (apparently, Fidel's children are as unfit as he was) "Coronel Alejandro Castro Espín (53 years old) Son of Raúl Castro Intelligence Coordinator of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior (MININT)"

Here is a link to the PDF, which was a little slow loading on my desktop, and note that almost all of the faces are white because the Castros are very racist people:

I don't think most in the US understand how utterly despicable, repressive and corrupt that totalitarian regime is. However, the Gospel is spreading despite the political and economic mess. And that's good news.

Yeah, this is Cuba here, so who knows the truth, but I've wondered if this Alejandro Castro-Espin person, Raoul's little boy, isn't the true thug in charge of the country now. Al is a YUGE Stalin fan and he's a KGB trained colonel in the secret police there:

    https://www.havanatimes.org/?p=109555

“An Empire of Terror”, Al needs to look into the mirror. He was the pivot man back in 2014 for all those American dollars to enrich his worthless communist family further.

Trump is moving closer to Russia and says N. Korean leader Kim is a "great guy." Why did he cut ties with Cuba/

How is Trump moving closer to Russia? Ties had to be cut with Cuba because Cuba and China (both communists) are harming our diplomats with sonic devices that attack hearing and attack the brain through hearing. We should totally close our embassy in Cuba. Cuba long ago infiltrated our government and one of their major sources of income is selling US secrets to other nations. Cuba was never interested in a thaw with us; they hate us forever and Che wanted to drop atomic bombs on New York City, as you know.

Ten years ago, when Russian money was pouring into the West, Trump began praising the country and its leader: “Look at Putin . . . he’s doing a great job in rebuilding the image of Russia and also rebuilding Russia period.” In 2013, Putin wrote an op-ed in the New York Times to try to dissuade the Obama administration from responding to the Syrian government’s use of chemical weapons. In it, he argued that the poison gas was actually used by the Syrian opposition to trick Washington into attacking the regime. Trump’s reaction was lyrical. “I thought it was an amazingly well-written . . . letter. . . . I think he wants to become the world’s leader, and right now he’s doing that.”

“There’s nothing I can think of that I’d rather do than have Russia friendly,”
Trump declared at a news conference last July. His campaign seemed to follow this idea. He appointed as a top foreign policy adviser Michael Flynn, a man who had pronounced pro-Russian leanings and, we now know, had been paid by the Russian government. Paul Manafort, who was for a while the head of Trump’s campaign, received millions of dollars from Ukraine’s pro-Russia party. During the Republican convention, there was a very unusual watering down of hawkish language on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. And once elected, Trump chose as his secretary of state Rex Tillerson, who had been awarded one of Russia’s highest honors for foreigners and had a “very close relationship” with Putin. Finally, there are the repeated contacts between members of Trump’s campaign and family with key Russian officials and nationals, which again appear to be unique to Russia.

What in the world does any of the above have to do with the current political elite in Cuba? Cuba's ties with Russia have been dead since the end of the Cold War, the ruling Castro family predates Trump, Obama, back to JFK's time. Yes, when the USSR finally collapsed, Cuba did lose its major protector and had to scramble to do something about their loss of their fertilizer supply - hence, their pioneering in Organic farming.

They are far more allied with Venezuela these days than Russia. I Venezuela and Cuba leadership have caused mass starvation in those countries, but, hey, at least there's "income equality" in Cuba, except if you figure out the Castro family and their billions. "Man of the people", uh-huh.

So why shouldn't we have a diplomatic relationship with Cuba? America has demonstrated under Trump we don't care about human rights anymore either here or abroad.

For the second time, Cuba and China are attacking our diplomats with sonic waves Also, the Canadians are being hit by the Cubans. Would you yourself want to lose your hearing just to be in a hostile country? Cuba hates the USA. It is the cornerstone of the dictatorship of the Castro family. Their income comes from spying on us and selling our secrets.

"trying to form a treasonous relationship" aka a summit.but then lefties have been in deep love with the Castro regime in Cuba since like forever. Pinch a Castro and at least ten lefties scream in sympathy.

neither one of them know what you're talking about:

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/attacked-bed-safe-few-feet-away-cuba-mystery-100251868--politics.html

but doubt they care, since it's not about Trump. I have a neighbor that went to Cuba for three weeks back in 2016 and came back totally disillusioned by what he saw.

For the third time, our diplomats and Canada's in Cuba as well as ours in China are being made very ill by sonic attacks. Would you care to submit yourself to this?

If we had a relationship with Cuba we would complain about this through diplomatic channels.

We have an embassy in Havana so what are you talking about? Do you think that Raul is better than Fidel? It is believed that Raul killed more people personally than Fidel. Only Che, who loved to murder, is considered to have been more bloodthirsty. What advice do you have for the Canadians who were also attacked by the Cubans?

Yep, Trump rolled back some of the Obama policy, not all or most of it. It just wasn't working out, the whole point of the thawing of relations was to encourage Cuba to have a freer, less oppressive government and all this was in place before Castro died. Changing the power has changed nothing, and Obama had it where Americans were partially supporting the crazy Cuban military.

I agreed with the lifting of the travel restrictions (opened some eyes) but now you have to go with a tour group. What I find most offensive about the whole thing was the ending of "wet foot dry foot" by Obama at the end of his presidency - that was pure spiteful payback for the Cubans in Florida not delivering for Hillary. .

Drastic staff cuts at U.S. Embassy in Cuba now permanent
HAVANA (Reuters) - The United States said on Friday it was making permanent its decision last year to slash staffing at its Havana embassy by around two-thirds because a spate of alleged health incidents among its diplomats remained unsolved.
The decision casts a pall on U.S.-Cuban relations and limits the United States’ ability to play a role in the civil society of the Communist-run island as it prepares for its first non-Castro president in nearly 60 years.

It will also hurt Cuban-American families divided by the Florida Straits, who have struggled to get visas to visit one another since the United States first cut the embassy’s staff in September due to the “attacks” that it says have caused hearing loss, dizziness and fatigue in two dozen employees

President Donald Trump’s administration also expelled 17 Cuban diplomats stationed in the United States.

If we can't work out a simple thing like this why do you expect Trump to be able to negotiate a nuclear deal with N. Korea? Well, I think we recently got an answer on that one from N. Korea. he can't. In fact he hasn't and can't do much of anything except
