(Washington, DC) - The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) announced today that Turkish authorities have agreed to permit American Pastor Andrew Brunson to leave prison and return to his home in Turkey.

The ACLJ represents the family of American Pastor Andrew Brunson – a U.S. citizen from Black Mountain, North Carolina – who has spent nearly 21 months imprisoned in Turkey because of his Christian faith. Pastor Andrew has been on trial for the crime of “Christianization” and the ACLJ has been working in this country and abroad to secure his freedom.

“We have confirmed that the Turkish government has issued an order releasing Pastor Andrew Brunson from prison and allowing him to be returned to his home in Turkey,” said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the ACLJ. “This is a critical first step that we believe will result in the freedom of Pastor Brunson so he can return to the United States and be reunited with his family. The President has played a critical role in securing the freedom of Pastor Brunson. We have worked closely with the President on this matter and are grateful for his efforts. We look forward to the ultimate release of Pastor Brunson.”

Christianization......never heard Christianity termed that way?

America will be there in 50 years at the rate we are going. Practically get locked up for street preaching these days.

Interesting. Giving President Trump a lot of credit.

I prayed for pastor Brunson a while back, thank God in Jesus' name he is finally being freed!

I learned a while back that the martyrs and persecuted tell us who are real geostrategic allies are. Certainly not Turkey, which would throw a fine pastor in prison.

This may be a good first step, but he has not been freed, he is under house arrest. Keep praying, but know that there are many other Christians who don't make the news that are nonetheless being persecuted for the faith; so keep praying.

My wife and I have been praying for Andrew Brunson, daily since we first heard of him. We also pray for the millions, we don't hear of who are suffering persecution or as the scripture puts it, tribulation for Christ's name, those whose names we don't know, probably because they are not US citizens.

    Hardly.

More likely for those who prayed for Andrew.

God can use anyone. WE have been praying for the Turkish govt and the captors. The prayers of the faithful are mightier than the US or any other Govt.

What's so hard about acknowledging God used the Trump administration in answering our prayers? To the best of my knowledge, this didn't happen ex nihlo without any human actions.

What is so hard about acknowledging that our prayers were answered? We did not pray for Trump to intervene, but that the Turkish rulers would be lenient.

Yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean that there is anything particularly intrinsically good about the instrument used: God used the Babylonians to execute His will on the Jewish people but that didn't make the Babylonians the good guys deserving the credit; heck, he even used a donkey to speak to Balaam! We give credit and glory to God, not to man.

I never said there was. Sometimes it's a matter of a broken clock being right twice a day.

I do believe that some (all??) of the never-trump crowd would belly-ache if $10 bills were falling from the sky - they would complain that they wouldn't have to gather so many IF they were $100 bills instead.
Moral: thank God for answered prayer, rather than criticize His method!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
