Which Catholic teaching says cover up and rape children?

Jewish leadership killed Jesus, that didn't make it the false religion.

    Luke 6

22“Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. 23“Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets.

I would advocate following the scriptures... You say it is beyond your wisdom and I agree it is also beyond mine but it is laid out in scripture what you need and must do... In my church if any thing like this that has been reported came up I can guarantee you that action would have been taken to remove it... I will not give you my opinion but let scripture tell you the measures to take... The Pastor is still considered a brother but a thorough investigation must be conducted before any action is taken and if it is found out that he is guilty... For the good of the Body Of Christ he must be removed, be he Catholic, be he Baptist... Brother Glen:)

1 Corinthians 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

5:10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Where do you get your information that the pope or that other popes have covered up child molestation? As far as what he will do with the current allegations, we will see. Don't assume you know.
It is extremely important to keep in mind that this is a grand jury report, and not a definitive finding of facts by a neutral fact finder after a trial where evidence is presented formally and tested. In a grand jury, the prosecutor presents an unrebutted case. There is no restriction on the evidence presented. There is no cross-examination. There is no alternative evidence presented. There is no right to confront witnesses. As such, it is extremely difficult to judge the merits of the claims in the report, and I would caution people against assuming that everything stated in the report is gospel. Prosecutors don't always get things right; sometimes they intentionally get things wrong for political or personal reasons.
I don't know if Wuerl enabled abuse or failed to report abuse, and neither do you, Steaver. There is the allegation that Wuerl sent a letter to an abuser offering a stipend in exchange for a letter saying he knew nothing about other abusers, when the abuser in fact knew about other abusers. If that's true, that's horrendous and Wuerl should get what's coming to him and then some. But has anyone seen the evidence of that? Does the letter exist? Has it been authenticated as from Wuerl? What is the context of the statement? What was said, exactly? Does Wuerl dispute he said any such thing? Yes, it's past time for a real Inquisition into all of this, with complete transparency and brutal accountability. But in charity people also need to exercise some prudence when it comes to the tendency to adopt every allegation as true simply because we are all fed up with this.

After reading your posts, including the ones following this one, you are really hitting your stride on hate for the Latin Rite. Kiss the Pope's ring? No. And now he's the head of a "Rape Ring"? Good grief, your vile accusations knows no bounds and you should be ashamed of yourself for placing the blame on people who hate and deplore this type of thing as much as you and I do. Pope Francis is actually working to end this scourge and to hold to account those who do such things.

The coverup and failure to do anything practical is the biggest sin.

    FWIW here is my solution:

Allow marriage (male-female only) of Catholic hierarchy.
Replace altar boys and girls with altar men and women (Yes, I saw altar girls serving when I went to a Catholic Funeral Mass).
Get rid of auricular confession .The Confessional Booth can be a pedophile child trap.

I am thankful for every Catholic priest who is faithful to his vocation and who is chaste. I realize how important it is that people pray for them. I am in no way trivializing the bad priests who abused children and who covered up crimes. They belong in jail. My biggest complaint is against the Pa. Attorney General's office. If they are serious about prosecuting child molesters, then they need to cover the entire gamut. They also need to go after the perverts who are not Catholics.
There are many, but we never hear about them.
It's not just a Catholic problem.
If people were truly concerned about endangering children, then they would be fighting tooth and nail to end the modern day holocaust we call abortion.
60 Million innocent lives snuffed out since 1973.
    Lord have mercy.

I agree it is not just a RC problem -

It is the job that the priest is involved in.

Let me give you an example - some guy steals cars - might be a small article in the paper
BUT if the owner of a dealership goes out and steals cars - it will be headline news for days!

Likewise when a minister ( RC, Protestant, Jewish) it is big news becasue he is supposed to have high moral standards.

It the old "Dog bites man" not news - "Man bites dog" really big news.

Yes... they reform it by throwing out or jailing the pedofiles, allow priests to marry. And most of all repent.

You don’t know these people. How can you provide instruction? Catholism is deeply imbedded in their family, in their culture, in their tradition. Change can come, but only by the Lord changing them.

    The gospel is Jesus Christ.

    Which is the real one?

The one where a God is so furious and angry that his remote control robots were only capable of doing bad stuff because he didn't give them capacity to do good stuff that he makes himself feel better by torturing Jesus?

Hopefully you can correct me where I am wrong, because I couldn't insult God's intelligence more then you if I tried on account you actually believe this.

A selfish person would throw their own mother under the bus let alone Jesus.

There is no way you can convince me that torturing Jesus is a mercy to me anymore then if tortured my own child and called it "MERCY".

The idea that Jesus actually means something to someone seems to be joke tossed around.

Just fine for a selfish person, he'll call it mercy. But to someone who actually loves others, mercy is about how I treat who they care for.

We teach Jesus Christ is the gospel.

    The one JESUS TAUGHT.

Show us the bible verse where God pour out his wrath on Jesus. These Unbiblical ideas confuse propitiation to mean the pagan philosophy of human sacrifice, having to sacrifice the pure to the volcano gods to stop the gods from being angry at you.

If it is biblical then you shouldn't have a problem citing a bible verse.
