All that shows is our welfare system has created a generational class of lazy people.

People talk about the "large number of jobs" created by Trump. Most of them have been low-paying. So these are the jobs poor people are getting and have to live on.

No, most of them have been in the mining and manufacturing sector. These are not minimum wage jobs.

Show the group that Trump's jobs created are mostly minimum wage jobs. You can't. You're just repeating Democratic talking points.

Here's some data for you. First chart is the types of jobs that are growing the fastest under Trump than under Obama.
Second chart is jobs that grew faster under Obama than under Trump. Notice Obama created minimum wage jobs, not Trump.

But who made them victims? As a teenager my family of 4 sisters, 1 brother all younger than I were a welfare family in the State of Louisiana living in a housing project.

No incentive was ever given to be self sufficient and in fact it was discouraged.

I went looking for part time work and when I told our social worker she saw to it that I was issued a monthly cash award for school expenses including lunch money. I needed no receipts other than a form which I filled out enumerating expenses. They didn't cross check the attendance rolls and she let me know that info so I could fill in days I missed.

She arranged for and sent me to our local parish church monthly where I was issued "Vatican money". I used it to purchase bread and cold cuts for my lunch (and other groceries) . I often walked to school (twelve NOLA blocks) and saved the street car as well as the lunch money.

She connected me with the Salvation Army which (for some strange reason) was the government surplus food center. My girlfriend and I used a little wagon for the ten block trek (20 round trip) to bring the voluminous goodies home.

She found out my step father (who was in jail and the reason we were on welfare) was from a masonic family and connected us to the local Free Masons who periodically brought us baskets of food, clothing and toys along with a doctor who made house calls and supplied us with our medicine.

A local Baptist Church (where some of the Masons attended) also supplied things for the younger children (diapers, bottles, etc). Although she didn't explicitly say we were entitled to all these things (and more if we could get it) it was definitely implied.

In fact my youth as a teenager in Louisiana was actually quite pleasant (apart from the cockroaches) living in the projects.

America! no wonder the world wants to come here.

Anyone can go to the Bureau of Labor Statistics website and look this stuff up for themselves. Here's a link to the latest report.

    Employment Situation Summary

Minimum wage jobs would be food services jobs and retail clerking. Here's some excerpts from that report:

Employment in professional and business services increased by 51,000 in July and has risen by
518,000 over the year. Over the month, employment edged up in temporary help services (+28,000)
and in computer systems design and related services (+8,000).

Manufacturing added 37,000 jobs in July, with most of the gain in the durable goods component.
Employment rose in transportation equipment (+13,000), machinery (+6,000), and electronic
instruments (+2,000). Over the past 12 months, manufacturing has added 327,000 jobs.

In July, employment in health care and social assistance rose by 34,000. Health care employment
continued to trend up over the month (+17,000) and has increased by 286,000 over the year.
Hospitals added 7,000 jobs over the month. Within social assistance, individual and family
services added 16,000 jobs in July and 77,000 jobs over the year.

Employment in food services and drinking places continued to trend up over the month (+26,000).
Over the year, the industry has added 203,000 jobs.

In July, employment in retail trade changed little (+7,000).

Construction employment continued to trend up in July (+19,000) and has increased by 308,000
    over the year.

In July, average hourly earnings for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls rose by 7 cents
to $27.05. Over the year, average hourly earnings have increased by 71 cents, or 2.7 percent.

Topic No. 751 Social Security and Medicare Withholding Rates | Internal Revenue Service

Topic Number: 751 - Social Security and Medicare Withholding Rates

Taxes under the Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) are composed of the old-age, survivors, and disability insurance taxes, also known as social security taxes, and the hospital insurance tax, also known as Medicare taxes. Different rates apply for these taxes.

Social Security and Medicare Withholding Rates
The current tax rate for social security is 6.2% for the employer and 6.2% for the employee, or 12.4% total. The current rate for Medicare is 1.45% for the employer and 1.45% for the employee, or 2.9% total. Refer to Publication 15, (Circular E), Employer's Tax Guide, for more information; or Publication 51, (Circular A), Agricultural Employer’s Tax Guide, for agricultural employers.

FICA includes BOTH Social Security and medicare as the IRS quote stated. You erroneously said "FICA is 6.2%; Medicare is 1.45% for a combined rate of 7.65%." I'm going to stop wasting my time correcting your mistakes.

Yep, my bad. You are correct. FICA is comprised of both social security and Medicare. For some reason I typed FICA when I meant SS.

For someone who calls himself Rev, I would expect more honesty, but then again?

Leftists like you are the problem.
I am a realist. I have enough sense to separate reality from Mambyy pamby land. I will give an example that maybe even someone like you will understand. In the town in which I worked when I retired from the Police force, we had a very high crime area. You did not answer calls there by yourself unless you were prepared for a heck of a fight. We had a young officer who thought he was man enough to not wait for backup. When we got there, he was literally being beat to death. We saved him (fractured skull) and arrested the perps. His going in alone in no way excused, justified, nor mitigated the blame on his attackers. He was a "victim." However, it was his fault and his fault alone that he became a victim. When he returned to work, he was disciplined. "Victims" quite often cause themselves to become victims. People have a responsibility to use common sense.

My wife and I have never had any problems when we needed health care, sometimes in emergency.

    No.
Sinful hearts are the problem, whether left right or centre.
