So, you don't have a job because that would yoke you with unbelievers?

You don't have a business because that would yoke you with unbelievers?

And you never pay your bills because that would yoke you with unbelievers?

And you never post on the Baptist Board as the "Other Christian" forums have unbelievers posting, because that would yoke you with unbelievers?

And you would never post on the Christian Forums because that site is full of unbelievers, and that would yoke you with unbelievers?

    Interesting.

Now, let's look at what the bible has to say. 2 Cor 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Paul makes it very clear that his condemnation is for joining with unbelievers in acts of idolatry; since one of the apostle's arguments to dissuade from being unequally yoked with unbelievers is, "what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?" and from 1 Cor 10:14 we know that some of the people in the church at Corinth had joined with them in such practices.

It cannot be applied to military service, business, or even marriage, for Paul, in 1 Corinthians found such marriages to be lawful.

Dave, you need to find a good bible believing, teaching baptist church, join it and submit yourself to the bible teaching by a God called and God gifted pastor who will teach you the truth of God's word. He will rid your mind of the false and yes even idiotic "doctrines" you have invented due to your terrible lack of knowledge of the scriptures.

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Time is short. Get into a good church and start serving God and learning what the scriptures are all about.

[excerpt from my testimony] Not wanting to remain unequally yoked together with unbelievers, I gave up my career as a musician and began living the sermon on the mount (Matthew 6:24-34). Seeking first the kingdom of God as a career. To make a long story short, I began washing dishes part time as unto the Lord and retired early out of my own pocket, never missing a day's work through recessions and job closings. The Lord is faithful.

So, as a Christian you were engaging in pagan idolatry? Worshiping the creation rather than the Creator?

Basically yes. The love of money, the stuff wars are made of, is idolatry.

So, in the temple of God, you committed idolatry because of your love of money?

Did you think the pagan idol you were worshiping would make you rich?

Hey Brother......sorry, but have to agree to disagree.
Mt. 5-6 is the KOH and not the KOG.

The Sermon on the Mount is an OT dissertation given to Jews, Israel before the crucifixion- a Jewish Messianic Kingdom is approaching.

However since you do not believe in the Millennium it is a mute point.

    The are the same.

“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17)

“And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)

Covetousness is Idolatry. And the love of money drives unbelievers. So I left their company and began living the Sermon on the Mount instead.

But I did not ask you what sins you were committing. I asked you what god you were worshiping. Give me the name of the pagan god you were worshiping.

Dave, you duck and dodge just about every question you are asked. You don't have any answers to the questions your confused understanding evokes.

I explained, in contest, what the unequal yoke Paul was talking really was, the worship of idols and that such idol worship was not fitting for those IN THE TEMPLE OF GOD. But you ignore it. Your heterodox blather has been shown to be unbiblical over and over and you just ignore the proof and continue to spout your nonsense.

Why should we bother to discuss these issues with you if you just ignore our biblical exegesis make up nonsense as you go along and refuse to answer honest questions because you know if you give an honest answer it will prove you wrong!

Dave, you seem to be expecting others to come to the exact same conclusions as you have come to. Without care, this can come off unintentionally as self-righteous phariseeism.

Brother I know you reject the Millennial reign of Christ, however you cannot deny scripture............these (KOH-KOG) are 2 different kingdoms being offered at the same time. The KOH is a physical, literal kingdom that is being offered to Israel if they will take Christ as their Messiah- that’s the truth in Mt. 4:17…………you take me as your Messiah and I will give you the physical kingdom that is promised to you.

But he is also offering them a Spiritual kingdom that they can get into- the KOG. Both kingdoms are being offered by Jesus Christ. He says in Mk. 1:15 “The time is fulfilled………..” What time is that? God goes by time, he is exact………..and is very patient.

Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

The KOH is Jewish……… John a Judaean- Jew out of the Judaean wilderness with no NT or knowledge of the new birth, the crucifixion-resurrection (other than what he knows from the OT) does not come preaching the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, the gospel that Paul preached, is aware of any mystery and he plainly states his mission is to manifest Christ to Israel; not to the church, not to Gentiles.

Matthew 10:5-7 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

You cannot take a literal, Messianic, Jewish kingdom and spiritually infuse churchanity, crafting it into the KOG- does not work- they are 2 separate kingdoms.

The gospel of the kingdom- Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people is not the same gospel that Paul preached-

Galatians 1:8-9 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

The KOH is not to the church, Paul never preached the KOH, only the KOG…………..

Acts 20:25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

The gospel of the kingdom of the kingdom takes place prior to the 2nd Advent.

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come

You do believe there is more than 1 gospel do you not- just curious?

The KOG is a Spiritual kingdom…………

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

When Christ was on earth at his 1st Advent he offered both (2x) kingdoms to the Jews and they rejected him.

I have to disagree. The Kingdom of God is used 68 times in 10 different books of the New Testament. The Kingdom of Heaven is used 32 times but only in the Gospel of Matthew.

There is a reason for that. Matthew is written to the Jews. Many Jews of that day, as also today, will not speak or write the word "God." Many today will write "G-d" or use a different word because they believe the word "God" is too holy to speak or write. We see this all through the Old Testament where we see the word LORD instead of YHWH, (Yahwah) out of Jewish reverence for "The Name." Even when they did write or speak The Name, they changed it from YHWH by adding the vowels from the other Hebrew word for "lord" - Adonai, so they came up with YaHoWaH or Jehovah.

So the Jews of Jesus's day would use one of the substitute names to avoid speaking the Divine Name. We also see this in Mark 14:61 when the High priest asks Jesus, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”

We see another example in Luke 15:18 when the prodigal, in his repentance speech, says, “I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee.”

In Matthew 19:23 - 24, speaking to the rich young ruler, Christ uses “kingdom of heaven” and “kingdom of God” interchangeably.

Same thing. Just Matthew being careful not to offend the Jews' reverence for the Name of God.

Paul says covetousness = idolatry. So I stay away from covetous people in personal relationships just as I avoid adulterers and drug users. So the pagan Gog is the idol called money according to Paul.

“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 19:23–24)

They are exactly the same single Kingdom.

The phrase “kingdom of Heaven” occurs thirty-two (32) times and only in the Gospel of Matthew. The phrase “kingdom of God” occurs thirty-two (32) times in the Gospel of Luke, the most of any book in the Bible.

An examination of Synoptic parallels will demonstrate that the two phrases refer to the same idea.

“the kingdom of Heaven is at hand” (Matt. 4:17) || “the kingdom of God is at hand” (Mark 1:15)

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven” (Matt. 5:3) || “Blessed are the poor, for yours is the kingdom of God” (Luke 6:20)

“Among those born of women there has not risen a greater than John the Baptist, notwithstanding he who is least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than him.” (Matt. 11:11) || “Among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist, but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than him.” (Luke 7:28)

“the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 13:11) || “the mysteries of the kingdom of God” (Mark 4:11 cp. Luke 8:10)

“the kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed” (Matt 13:31) || “the kingdom of God...is like a grain of mustard seed” (Mark 4:30-31 cp. Luke 13:18-19)

“The kingdom of Heaven is like leaven” (Matt. 13:33) || “the kingdom of God...is like leaven” (Luke 13:20)

“Except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven” (Matt. 18:3-4) || “Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein” (Mark 10:15)

“Allow little children, and do not forbid them to come to me, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.” (Matt. 19:14) || “Allow the little children to come to me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of God.” (Mark 10:14 cp. Luke 18:16)

“a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of Heaven” (Matt. 19:23) || “How hardly shall they who have riches enter into the kingdom of God!” (Luke 18:24)

In other words, “kingdom of God” = “kingdom of Heaven.” If this is so, then “God” = “Heaven,” which leads us into my next point.

“Heaven” as a Circumlocution or Substitute for “God”
The reason why Matthew uses the phrase “kingdom of Heaven” more often than “kingdom of God” (which he uses only five (5) times in his gospel, although there are textual variants) is because he wrote to a Jewish audience, and the Jews did not pronounce the Tetragrammaton יַהְוֶה (Yahveh), and sometimes not even the word אֱלֹהִים (elohim). For example, today, Jews do not say אֱלֹהִים (elohim), but rather, אֱלֹקִים (elokim), and certainly never the Tetragrammaton. Rather than pronouncing those, they used “substitutes.” Some of these substitutes include:

Taken from; What is the difference in the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God?
