Economist proves Obama can't take credit for Trump economy

We like to compare presidents/leaders by how the economy performed under their watch but the reality is that our leaders often only have small impacts on the economy overall. National economies are large unweildly entities that have so many facets that go into it. A national leader only has a few small tools at his/her disposal and any impact will be delayed. Imaging trying to steer the titanic with a few small rudders. The impact is small and delayed.

It is very difficult for a political leader to make an economic impact in their first year of leadership as whatever trends were occurring prior to his/her term in office is likely to continue on its course. My feeling is that the new leader and old leader have similar impacts on the economy in the 2nd year of the new leader's term and by their third year, the new leader's impact will clearly overtake that of the old leader. This is keeping in mind that those impacts are generally very small. We often give leaders more credit for successes and failures of the economy during their term than they really deserve.

In my opinion, you should take into consideration the lack of confidence in Obama to do anything for anyone who was not a liberal/leftist Democrat. He wanted to shut the coal mines and try to run our electric plants on gas, which would have meant blackouts in the dead of winter. He made all kinds of rules and regulations and tried to micromanage the healthcare of the entire nation from his desk. Medicine and healthcare became very expensive under him and millions lost their health insurance. Blacks surprisingly suffered a very high unemployment rate. He attacked the police and military, setting off a crime wave in places like Chicago, which is still out of control. At this time, it is estimated that 58,000 blacks are still homeless in Los Angeles. Wages were stagnant due to high unemployment and millions of people went five years or more without a raise.

Obama was no good personally and his policies were designed to protect the rich and destroy the poor, as in the rust belt, where Hillary called people names and did not bother to campaign.
