Dr Mack Morris from Mobile AL., was well within his bounds to cut the Nike product up during the Sunday morning message. We have got to the point where Pastors are afraid of offending people about so many issues. What has happened to our pulpits, can't support our country and stand against wrong when we see it? Remember obamas pastor Jeremiah Wright, and his statements about America, that God should damn America? That black men should impregnate white women? Where was the outrage then? But, now pastors are afraid to support others who are just speaking the truth as they see it. I have boycotted the NFL and I never had Nike nor will I now. Come on guys start preaching the hard stuff, Jesus is coming soon. All of this is MHO. Be blessed!

There is nothing "unbiblical" about shredding shoes from the pulpit. It just seems like there should be more important things to discuss when you only have 52 opportunities to "feed Jesus' sheep". "God Bless America" is not the Great Commission.

[Of course, I am not a pastor, so what do I know about the job.] :Barefoot

Amen. It was Christ who died for our sins and Rose again--I want to do my best to preach Him for those 52 moments--all that other stuff will be forgotten in a couple months.

I agree and have been in church for over 50 years, I'm not a pastor either but I've been around many... The many I have been around preached on one thing only Jesus Christ... I come to church to worship God not to concern myself with social issues... When the preaching is finished then discuss it all you want but until then preach Jesus Christ and him crucified... Gods sheep are hungry for the things of God... Feed the sheep God made... Brother Glen:)

1 Corinthians 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

If I found that recent events led me to stop wearing Nike footware (hypothetical - I have none), I might better give them to someone who has no shoes. (Or to a ministry that offers Gospel-accompanied aid to such people.)

No, I don't support him. What the NFL, Nike and Kapernick do ought to stay out of Sunday morning preaching.

I would think preaching is reserved for things in the Bible...

I support him. Wish our spineless jellyfish, I meant pastor, had the backbone to do such.

Why would you go to a church that you thought had a spineless jellyfish as a Pastor?

I like the youth pastor and he does an excellent job with my kids. I put my kids needs ahead of my own.
