Then you shouldn't make an inflammatory statement and then proceed to tell us to shut up about it. :)

Having said that I disagree with your premise that "the reestablishment of the state of Israel as a physical nation in the land promised to Abraham" qualifies as a doctrine worthy of the apostasy (falling away).

The core doctrine of concern relative to the apostasy:

    2 john
7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

Whoever denies that Jesus Christ is deity come in the flesh as a mortal human being, true God and True man is of the Antichrist.

The biggest problem: the tares, who have learned the words to repeat this central issue of true Christianity but 1) Infiltrators who do not believe it in their heart or 2) Know it is true but hate Him.

So in my 50 plus years of walking with the Lord it is evident to me that there are many who are able physically to bow the knee but not the heart to our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Among them IMO are a few true believers who for fear will not depart from satan and one day there will be a sorting out

    Matthew 13
49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

    Matthew 25
31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
    ...
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

So, concern about the apostasy, of course. Panic - no.

Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit would be referring to when once gets saved by God, and then the Holy Spirit places us into the Body of Christ. the infilliing would be one relying upon the Holy Spirit to guide/direct/empower us to stay faithful to Christ.

Keeping to the OP, Pentecostal/Charismatic Holy Spirit baptism provides a basis for an authority other than Scripture, even when Scripture is held as inerrant & the sole authority.

We need to ask about the basis for the teaching we hear & challenge. (And our own teaching!) Is the authority Scripture or Scripture plus xxx?

I never held with the AOG viewpoint regarding tongues as evidence of the Second Act of grace, beingbaptism with Holy Ghost and power!

I question anyone who says that, "I am the only one who s right!" "It's me alone who has the right to judge a person, and you are an apostate!" Beware of the "It's me and me alone who loves God." That brochure is a false document espousing a false teaching!

Baptists view it in a Scriptural manner. It is a one time event, when you get saved you get all of the Holy Spirit you are going to get. Eph 1:13 and 4:30, Jn 3:6-7. We are in-dwelt by the Holy Spirit and then sealed until the day of redemption. Not this coming and going "filled" by the Holy Spirit that pentecostals and charismatics talk about.

So, what are you thoughts in Acts chapter 4 where the people who were "filled with the Spirit" were filled again?

    Acts 4
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

I once heard a godly man state: "When believers get filled with the Spirit, they're not getting more of the Spirit; the Spirit is getting more of them."

    ???

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them that heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision that believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 10

15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.
16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Acts 11

8 And God, who knoweth the heart, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did unto us; Acts 15

I found this interesting and if true, it explains why we might think fundamentalism is on the road, if not already there, to apostasy.

From its foundation to the present 'fundamentalism,' like a snowball rolling downhill, has picked up doctrinal distinctives as well as political leanings, but the movement originally was not limited to dispensationalists: "Many of our founding fathers were a-millenialists!" (Dr. Jack Van Impe, Heart Disease in Christ's Body, p. 120).

The Holy Spirit manifests Himself thru any believer whenever, wherever, and however He chooses. He is not beholden to us; we are beholden to HIM.

It is amazing to me that the Holy Spirit, who is God Himself, and yet he needs us to be agrreing with Him in order to be of use to Him!
