I am a Civil War buff and enjoy period music. I also enjoy folk music. I want to share a piece by Jay Ungar that Ken Burns used in his Civil War documentary It is a simple tune that has much in common with a waltz.

There's a lot of lovely music born in times of trouble.

This folk-style song is also about an incident in the civil war - the common folk who had fought for Parliament against the Royalty wanted a share of the land rather than continuing as serfs of the Lords & landlords -

    The world turned upside down.

The author/singer, Leon Rosselson is the son of Russian Jewish parents. He lived for a year in Israel, & is strongly sympathetic to the Palestinians.

Those are not th lyrics that I am familiar with. I thought the song was about celebrating Christmas.

    Disgusting:

'Stand Up for Judas' by Leon Rosselson

♫So stand up, stand up for Judas♫
♫and the cause that Judas served♫
♫It was Jesus who betrayed the poor with his word♫

A terrific song by a man who died young in an aircraft fire -

Stan Rogers - North West Passage

Now thanks to climate change/global warming you can enjoy a luxury cruise through the NW Passage.

Agree, it's disgusting. But did you miss the part about him being a Jew? Somewhat typical I would think.
