The question is how does one obey God's grace? One cannot merit it. Yet one must obey God's grace.

". . . And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. . . ." God says.

We cannot do a thing to merit Grace,(or Mercy) but we honor God's grace by honoring Him through love not obligation. We dishonor if obey as an obligation verse love He is due

In support of these statements, consider Paul's position:
1Co 15:9 KJV - For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
1Co 15:10 KJV - But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which [was bestowed] upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

God is indeed a God of Love.

Anyone who thinks there is a greater reward than Loving God and Loving Neighbor would not know what salvation was if salvation slapped them upside their head.

Name one person who is saved and hates God. Someone who doesn't have God as their priority is always going to have trouble getting this.

I find it disturbing that you have encountered Christians who are striving to earn their salvation and "help" Jesus Christ atone for their sins. Do they share with you their testimony of being born-again? If they can't do that, on what basis do you conclude they are Children of God

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

This gives rise to a sacramental system and a sacrificial sacerdotal priesthood.

Every time you sin then to be forgiven under this system Jesus must suffer again at the hands of the priest in the sacrifice of the mass, you must then eat His flesh and drink His blood to be saved all over again and again and again ...

Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

The act of salvation encompasses many aspects not just forgiveness. I key in on redemption (1 Peter 1:18-19). Did God know what He was purchasing? If a believer can lose their salvation, does God have a return window to get the price back?

    Matthew 18

23“For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves. 24“When he had begun to settle them, one who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. 25“But since he did not have the means to repay, his lord commanded him to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made. 26“So the slave fell to the ground and prostrated himself before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’ 27“And the lord of that slave felt compassion and released him and forgave him the debt. 28“But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe.’ 29“So his fellow slave fell to the ground and began to plead with him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you.’ 30“But he was unwilling and went and threw him in prison until he should pay back what was owed. 31“So when his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were deeply grieved and came and reported to their lord all that had happened. 32“Then summoning him, his lord said to him, ‘You wicked slave, I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33‘Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?’ 34“And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him. 35My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.”

Jesus Christ commands it. He also states that as how to be saved.

    Luke 10

25And a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”26And He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?” 27And he answered, “YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.” 28And He said to him, “You have answered correctly; DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE.”

I am quoting Jesus Christ. I do not say Jesus is a liar. Jesus Christ is saying the truth and giving perfect advice.

Can we get an Amen for the Word of Jesus Christ?

I can back up Jesus 100%. Only those who are dissatisfied with GOD's answer look to undermine and look for loopholes.

You are misunderstanding the purpose of our Lord's parable here. Christ is teaching about our fellowship with Him in relationship to our fellowship with our fellow brothers and sisters. Basically (how I understand it) if we do not forgive people, we will not enjoy a close relationship with God through an experiential reality of His forgiveness. In other words, our unforgiving attitude will only torment us, preventing us from not being able to walk in the joy of God's forgiveness towards us.

Right, and the first thing a sinner does is acknowledge that they do not "love God" and they repent of their wickedness and idolatry and turn to the living God for salvation.

    1 Thes. 1
For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,

I believe we can and should be cautious when someone we do not personally know says they are a Christian. The number one test of a true Christian and salvation is do they confess Jesus Christ is the Son of God and has come in the flesh, this is the first evidence of born of God. One can say they love God (whatever that means to them) and even display much love for their neighbors, however, if they have heard the Gospel and still reject Jesus is the Christ, the eternal Son of God, they are yet lost. Mormons and JWs come to mind.

Paul had some doubt of those claiming to be Christians yet they still wanted to be under the law..
    Gal 4:19
"My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
    Gal 4:20
I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.
    Gal 4:21
Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?"

Then there are true Christians who are weak in their faith and afraid to eat certain things, (Rom 14). SDAs come to mind.

And then there are true Christians who feel a need to obey traditions handed down by their church's authorities in order to maintain their salvation. The RCC comes to mind.

As far as the testimony of being born again, this is different for everyone. One is overwhelmed with tears of joy, while yet another only knows they believe Jesus is the Christ, the eternal Son of God. One who was raised Christian and was saved as a young child may not be able to give you an exact date or time they received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

Jon how could I be misunderstanding without giving a comment. And I agree with your statement. Although I might come across both universal and against OSAS at the same time.
