Perhaps a good working example of one who is meek is one who has the ability, authority, strength, power, to take action (verbal or non-verbal) but does not. For example, one is in a conference with other leaders upon a topic of discussion remains silent that others carry the discussion.

Meekness does not mean such things as shy, or inhibited, lacking strength, poor... Meekness must carry the element of being strong, capable, and yet choosing to be seen as humble and gentle spirited. Such as one who could crush the spirit of the unruly untamed horse, yet uses gentleness not to break the spirit but to bring into compliance.

The Scriptures state that while believers are unkind, judgmental, condemning, ... that God uses meekness.
Romans 2: "...do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?"

But why would anyone want to inherit dirt?

Would it be the estate at death where the Scriptures asks death where it can claim victory?

    Bodies return to the earth?

    What inheritance is the dirt?

Our inheritance is the new heavens and new earth in which righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:13).
My understanding is that we don't go to heaven; heaven comes to us (Revelation 21:2).

But the question remains, why would a believer desire to inherit the earth?

Could it be that "the earth" is actually the new earth referred to in the Revelation 21:1?
