What a slob to attack first-graders with a story that there is no Santa Claus!

Maybe if parents explained "myth" to their children at a young age like we did, there wouldn't be a problem.

Instead, we end up fostering the idea that the "myth" is real, and then wonder why so many children as they mature end up thinking the Bible and Jesus are equally mythological and drift into unbelief.

My wife and I did not teach our kids about Santa.
The kids did not receive any gifts from Santa.
We didn’t take pictures on Santa’s lap either.

But we didn’t forbid the kids from dabbling in the myth.
Santa just wasn’t as important as family.

I agree with the teacher - there is no Santa Clause - the Easter Bunny told me so.

I went to school with a lot of kids from the wrong side of the tracks and they probably were saying that there was no Santa Claus in the first grade but the teachers were kind and didn't talk about it. It was axiomatic that it was okay for little children to believe. We are the quiet generation. Our parents suffered real deprivation during the Great Depression. They enjoyed the modest prosperity of the 1950s.

This year the leftists and the rogues have told us that we mistreat orcs, sing about rape in a 1949 song about it is cold outside, support bullying in Rudolph the red-nose reindeer, and that our six-year olds should be adult about Santa. We are getting to be European I suppose. Next we might tell our nine-year old girls that they are old enough for marriage according to Allah. I know it is wrong to say Merry Christmas, but I do anyway. I don't shop at Target either and I think that Pope Francis should do something besides talk all the time.

Thank you very much! Now I remember that story. I never think about that but I think about the kindness to the poor shown by St. Nicholas. You don't hear kindness spoken much anymore. It has to be a bad Christmas for General Flynn who did nothing but was told by Mueller that he shouldn't have to spend a lot of time in prison. It is a bad Christmas for Trump because the petty Democrats will impeach him in January just because. And the left has drug out their usual attacks: orcs are subjected to racism, a 1949 song was about rape, Rudolph was bullied, first-graders should know that there is no St. Nicholas, and more to come. No, Americans used to be more polite and more compassionate.

The Catholic school in town used to have a principal who dressed as St. Nicholas (miter and staff, etc.) and visited the children to pass out chocolate coins and remind them of the importance of defending the Trinity. Lots of hoo-hah in the presentation, but a nice reminder that Old Saint Nick was a real person.

Let them learn to trust their own senses.
I didn't believe in Santa Claus, I didn't believe in the Tooth Fairy, I didn't believe in the Easter Bunny.... I didn't even believe in the milkman....well until I actually saw him one day.
