It is the most cruel thing that any person can do. He should take the blame himself. That would be the Scriptural thing to do. In James 5 the sick are directed to come to the pastors of the church. The pastor is directed to pray for the sick. It is the "prayer of the faith" that will "save the sick." The prayer of faith is not the prayer of the one who is sick but the prayer of the "faith-healer" or the preacher. The one doing the praying should take the blame if someone is not healed--always.
Jesus healed all that came to him--no conditions attached.
Peter (and the other Apostles) healed all that came to them--no conditions attached. See Acts 5:16. He healed "everyone of them." He never attached any condition, and never accused anyone of not having enough faith.
That is so cruel to send someone on a guilt trip by telling them that they didn't have enough faith. The truth is that Benny Hinn didn't have enough faith to heal them. Actually, the real truth is that he is a fraud who can't heal anyone.

It really gets me the faith people put into Benny Hinn. He has no power but he says he does.

The apostles didn't uplift themselves or advertise the power of the Holy Spirit in them they simply did what God willed them to do.

If I tell you, you are going to die tomorrow and you dint I am a liar. That's false prophecy. come on people don't follow this man follow Christ. He has lied many many many times and he rarely gets into true scripture he contorts it like Satan did when he tempted Christ.

'So if Paul, who wrote 13 or 14 books of the New Testament, and who tirelessly journeyed to promote the Gospel, and did so until death couldn't turn on the healing at will, then how does Benny do it?'

Benny doesn't heal. It is a charade. Please research it out. Go to those who have come out of Benny Hinn's organization. They will testify what goes on. There has, to this day, not been any documented evidence of anyone being healed through any of Benny Hinn's crusade.
I will give you an example of what happens.

We have a lady in our church confined to a wheel chair, paralyzed on one side. Even with this disability, she is able to get around short distances with the help of a can, and is able to stand momentarily without the help of a cane. There are many such people. Hinn has such "plants." These "cripples" will come forth, and testify how they have been crippled for how many years. Benny will put his hands on them and tell them to arise. Of course they are able to arise and stand momentarily. Most of them cane. Hinn is very selective about who is able to come onto the stage and who cannot. He then pronounces the "cripple" healed. But the cripple goes home just as crippled as ever. No miracle has ever been performed. It is all a charade, and very sad, in fact sickening! Tell me when you see a parapalegic or better yet a quadrapelegic go up and ask to be healed; or a man in the final stages of Parkinson's disease, Alzeimer's disease, diseases that are so visible to others that it would be obvious to all that healing would be taking place instantly. This doesn't happen; has never happened. He is a fraud. He "makes merchandise of the people," as the Bible says. No one is healed on Benny Hinn's shows or crusades.

It is the sick one to call for the Elders to pray. [James 5:14] Just throwing your life into neutral shows little confidence in the Lord.

That is not necessarily a command for every believer, Ray.
What is more important is knowing God's will:

1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

There are many with variuos afflictions that have prayed about it and know that it is not God's will for them to be healed. There is no sense to gather the pastors of the church together when the sick already know the will of God on the matter.

Secondly, a believer always has a choice in the matter. He is not bound to see the elders of the church. That would be legalism. It must be his choice to do so. If a person like Brother Lowry chooses not to go that direction, who are we to judge. That is between him and God. All that he asked of others was prayer.

    DHK,

I can agree with you here. That is what is called free will. The Lord will not force Himself on any person without the response of their will even in matters of Divine healing.

Benny Hinn preaches 'jesus' but not the Jesus of Scripture. He preaches the 'gospel' but not the Gospel of Christ. What he has 'received' he has done so of 'another' spirit but not from the Holy Spirit -

2 Corinthians 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

His god is money, the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10), "supposing that gain is godliness (1 Timothy 6:5) He is motivated by greed; covetousness his driving force -

2 Peter 2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

His followers are devoid of spiritual insight and discernment, drawn away from the purity of the Gospel of Christ by a lust for what they can 'get' out of God. Seekers who exalt 'experience' over the 'more sure Word' (2 Peter 1:19) Rather than clinging to sound doctrine, they instead, gather unto themselves false teachers like Hinn, having 'itching ears' (2 Timothy 4:3)

It is all part and parcel of the prophecied 'apostacy' of the end times before Christ returns - the seperating of the sheep from the goats and the wheat from the tares. :(

P.S. Several years ago, my mother was healed as a result of the pastor/elders obedience to do what James 5:14 commanded. It was verified by a medical doctor (unlike Hinn's so-called 'miracles of healing')and God was glorified as it provided my mom the opportunity to witness to the doctor of God's mercy and grace. And the pastor/elders were Baptists! [IMG]

    Athanasian Creed,

Your mother's healing is a wonderful witnessing tool toward both the lost and the saved.

With various theologies flying around the world, as in Five Point Calvinists, Five Point Arminians, Pentecostalism, and some pastors who have never had the opportunity to see all angles of Biblical and theological interpretation, it is unfair to say that any one of us are not saved or that we are not bringing men and women to Christ.

In my book Rev. Hinn and Copeland are genuine Christian pastors who have their calling from God the Holy Spirit. Do they always get things right? No. And many pastors are merely giving the montra that they learned along the way. The important question is are they maturing Christians in the faith? Are they learning Biblical truth? These men call people to faith in Christ. This is the most important thing!

Can you demonstrate that they have a clear calling from God. Jesus said: "By their fruit ye shall know them." By fruit he meant he meant "doctrine." What doctrine do these men have to offer. It is false doctrine. They are false teachers that teache a different Jesus than the Bible teaches. They are not genuine at all. Their calling may come from a spirit, but not the Holy Spirit.
They are calling people to faith in a false Christ. Actually their theology is to have faith in faith. It is not Biblical at all, but heresy, as is most of their theology. They teach heresy, and do not lead people to Christ. It is a show, a charade. They are frauds.

In an early post I think page 3 someone quoted Hinn as saying something to the effect of we are little god and little jesus because we are part of him .............something like that.

If that isn't the definition of humanism I don't know what is. We are not gods no more than a rock is. I have tried to give Hinn the benefit of the doubt but every time I try he only preaches false doctrine and his message is self serving, self center, and just plain wrong.

If I tell you I am a pilot and I cant fly planes what am? Am I just misguided? Am I telling the truth because I play flight simulation games? Or am I a liar? I would be a liar and you wouldn't believe me without evidence that evidence is my fruit, my life, my teaching, my preaching, my witness, my doctrine. Hinn's fruit shows him to be a liar so how can his work be good? It cant you can not serve two master.

I used to think they were preaching the truth. Then I discovered that they do not believe that Jesus is God. For myself, that was the cut off point. Test the spirits, hold their theology to the Light of God's Word.

As Paul told us, satan would masquerade as an angel of Light. In other words, he would have an element of truth, but when you take off the wrapping you would find lies and deception.

A corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit.

The Fruit of the Spirit in Gal 5 is only a partial list. There are 11 fruit. The other two are righteousness and TRUTH [Eph 5:9] Also check out the fruit of righteousness - it's important that we use Scripture as a whole, not parceled out in pieces to fill a theological need.

The biggest miracle related to Benny is that God has allowed him and his fans to go on like this for so long.

Yep, his fans too. It's not just Benny himself who is on VERY dangerous ground with false prophecies preceded by statements like "The Spirit tells me..." or "The Lord also tells me to tell you..." (examples given in my first post on this thread)...Look at what God said to Jeremiah in Jer 14:13-16 about false prophets and those they prophesy to...
