Love, Prayer, and Forgiveness: When Basics Become Heresies.

How do we harmonize the assurance that “God is love” with the assertion that “Our God is a consuming fire”? Most of us never think about such problems, and in the end our idea of love is indistinguishable from that of the world around us. –Leon Morris

Thanks for the review. It looks like a book for our time.

Unfortunately, we live in a time when most Christians read no more than memes.
The Scandal of Biblical Illiteracy: It’s Our Problem
Which means it's nigh impossible to interest many in a book based on the Bible.

I see the heresies as going both ways for different reasons. Often the "love without obedience heresy" is a response to "pharisee-ism" or hoing back to a focus on morality as a cause rather than a result. One side views God's love as emotional infatuation, ignoring the realities of the human condition. The other sees God's love as separate, if not secondary, to His wrath.

IMHO, both are equally "heresies" that can be resolved by realizing that God is Love and God's love is a holy love.
