    Here it is:

    Travel.

Once you travel, you will see the world thru different eyes, The lock box of Calvinism will fall before your feet. You will see christian shrines like those of the Crypto Christians in Japan who had to survive by disguising Mary as feminine Buddha. You will see Christianity in it's oldest forms in Ethiopia, and walk with them on their Ark Pilgrimages. You will see how the Chinese bury their dead and remember them, and how Chinese New Year reflects the Passover. You will see that while all are far from God, He is not far from any of us.
Calvinism cannot survive under the weight of world experience.
I invite you to leave the bubble of Calvinism and see the world without its distorted lenses.

You do not seem to understand what you are posting about.
Your op is not connected to the teaching in any way.

I disagree. Blinders come in many sizes, to include travel sized. People tend to travel with their blinders on. :Wink

Travel and seeing what you mention shows how man is so blinded to the truth of God. I see that even at home. People happily worship other deities, follow other religions, Buddhism and yoga and meditation and mediums are all very well accepted by the general public but speak of Jesus and you are close minded and judgmental. Their hearts are hardened towards the things of God and yet you speak to one and they respond to the Gospel and you sit there afterwards and think "How did THAT happen??" God has softened the heart and there is a response when the Gospel is preached. It is an amazing thing to know that God doesn't need me for Him to call a heart but He chooses to and that is humbling!

I generally find that the most common gods in the world today are Mammon and Caesar. I'm not too worried about yoga and meditation.

Giraffes are neither Republicans or Democrats. In fact, they cannot even vote.

I was attempting to illustrate that your statement about traveling the world will free you from Calvinism is just as silly as a statement about giraffes voting.

No I.believe it will . Calvinism is an upper middle class to wealthy white enclave thing. You move outside that bubble, you won't believe Calvinism anymore.
By the way, everybody knows the Dutch Reformed started and perpetuated Apartheid.

You are right he doesn't know what he is talking about. I think he's Catholic. At least he seems to favor the Greek orthodox.

    Hello MB,
My concern is to try and be accurate primarily.
I feel responsible for the person I interact with that they understand the teaching.
If they believe or do not believe is between them and God.
I do try and remove obstacles as best I can.
This person is eager to oppose what he does not know at all.
