So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Gen 1:27)

When God created man, He created him in His image, but not as His equal. Whereas God is incorruptible, man was created corruptible (not yet corrupt, but able to be corrupted).

However, when we are born again, God doesn't create our "new man" in His image, but rather in Him:

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Eph 2:10)

Adam was created "very good" and "upright", but this "new man" is created in "righteousness" and "true holiness":

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Eph 4:24)

We are "born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible" (1 Pet 1:23). So there is no chance of our new man ever becoming corrupt or falling away: "for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God" (1 John 3:9).

    Praise God!

Finite good is corruptable. Infinite good is not.

The image of God (elohim) just means a spiritual being, There are no others who are physical yet also spiritual

God created man in His image as "a spiritual being", but when Adam sinned his spirit was corrupted. When God created us "in Christ" though, He made us one with His incorruptible spirit:

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. (1 Cor 6:17)

Satan is a corrupted spiritual being. When spiritual beings sin, they become corrupt. However, God cannot sin. He is incorruptible.

it was not suggested that God could sin, you were referring to man being incorruptible. He was a sinner before he got here.

Our "new man" is what I was referring to as being incorruptible, and that is all hinged on the fact that God is incorruptible. I believe that our "old man" is corrupted by sin.
Are you saying that you believe that God created man corrupt though?

no, he created a spiritual being that sinned and mankind is the method of salvation, God does not create sinful beings, we have a choice

    Heb 2:14

    Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

I guess that I'm just having trouble seeing what point you're trying to make...

Ephesians 4:24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

What is this verse most likely saying? We are created in Christ, meaning the spiritual location of our human spirit is within the spiritual body of Christ. We have been baptized or immersed into Christ spiritually. So is this saying we were created within the righteousness and holiness of Christ? Or is it saying we were created as being righteous and holy.

My understanding is this verse is saying we are created (made) righteous and holy. However, we all continue to do or think sinful things. So how does incorruptible fit into the equation? Because we are "in Christ" (located within the propitiatory covering of Christ) we are seen by God as sinless, and therefore we are incorruptible because Christ is incorruptible perfection.
