I am glad that you agree that the ERCL should go, although it will be difficult for Russell Moore to find another job. His predecessor, Dr. Richard Land, is now president of Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina.

I think that Christians must stand against evil in the government and the American government is leading us into bankruptcy by failing to cut spending and pay their debts. Also, the federal government is saying that a woman has a right to murder a baby. In the 1950s perhaps Christians were silent on social issues but that day ended. We are to be salt and light.

Maybe Moore could find a job in the liberal media as the religious pun-dent. It’s more evident to me that the great and mighty SBC has feet of clay.

I had to find out what this deep state reference was...

Deep State” is a conspiratorial reference generally applied to American politics, referring to an inner cabal of cronyism who attempt to rule the country via undemocratic means. Falwell is evidently of the mind the Moore is “trying to subvert the will of the church members” — though one can only guess at what sinister plot Falwell imagines Moore is concocting within the bowels of the SBC.

Given the conspiratorial verbiage, it’s a little hard to take an accusation like this seriously — but it is nevertheless a pretty serious accusation. Moore has yet to respond.

I appreciate your concern but since when do I apologize for my opinion? I have tried to be less bombastic on this board but I do not always mee that goal. There is a side of me that could care less what people think of my opinion. But when I get like that I have to think whether that attitude is Christ-like. Am I trying to win an argument at all costs or to communicate the truth? There is a difference. Sadly, certain Christian leaders believe that the ends justify the means, even if those means include verbally destroying brothers in Christ. They have hitched their wagons to an ungodly system that has no concern for the things of God and will turn on them just as soon as their usefulness is exhausted. That is what happened to the Moral Majority. There are those on the BB who buy into the same thing. That is not my cup of tea. I have enough struggles trying to live obedient to my calling as a Christian.

It's not tied in with my faith except that I apply my Christian values to my political positions. I have posted a fair amount on theology.

No. I reject your combination of politics and faith. I do apply my Christianity to my political views, however.

Trump's tax cut for the rich is contributing $1.5T to the federal debt.

They say that the cut went mostly to corporations, which put everyone back to work and got raises for people who had not had raises in years. Now the hope is that there will be another tax cut for individuals that will lower rates for people making under $50,000 per year. But such a cut has to be accompanied by a reduction in federal spending and a cut in the number of employees and departments.

With full employment for the first time in fifty years, now is the time to reduce the numbers of federal employees and allow federal employees to find better jobs in business.

OK Brother... I just don’t want to see you get pushed around. There is too much of that on here, mostly flamed by political agenda so I don’t like to see anyone run over. Your from Northern Jersey, you were in the military, and you are a sovereign grace kinda guy so I get somewhat protective
