I already explained this in a previous post in response to your question about whether or not I was denying the effects of the fall. Go back and read that response. Thanks.

Maybe you don't. Maybe others do.

There have been reports of some people (who would otherwise have never opened a Bible) being led to the gospel through dreams. I have no reason to doubt their experience.

I grew up in a Christian home. I grew up knowing about the gospel. Others have not. I find it a bit arrogant to claim others were led to the gospel by an a false experience just because I have a Bible.

Yes, there are all kinds of claims of hundreds of thousands of Muslims that are allegedly having visions or dreams of Jesus and so far those claims have never been documented, much less proven to be true.

I don't think anyone is led to the Gospel by false experiences. I don't see how that would even be possible.

God's chosen method for reaching the world is the preaching of the Gospel, not dreams or visions. That's what the Bible teaches. It doesn't teach that God uses visions in the spreading of the Gospel. And there is no reason for God to say things to Christians that are in the Bible when they have Bibles to read. We are to read our Bibles and pray for the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Word to our hearts. That is how God speaks to us today.

The very fact that we have indwelling of the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us and illuminate the truth in the Scriptures to our hearts negates anything as inferior as a vision or dream.

Actually no, that response does not answer this question.
In the day Adam sinned ,God said dying thou shalt surely die. What happened that very day?
What was the result to mankind?

Those claims about being led to the gospel are not about believers being led to the gospel. It is the believer who is indwelt by the Spirit.

I have experienced dreams that led me to decisions. Often this was when I was contemplating issues (paticularly as an operations manager). I have even woke up and jotted down notes.

If we can have dreams that influence such unimportant decisions then perhaps God is able to use dreams to influence important things.

Because this is not a CA forum, I only want to present one area someone may want to create a thread upon.

When sin entered the world, we often hear two words used, “death” and “decay.”

Throughout Scriptures, death relates directly to physical vitality ceased. By extension the lake of fire is called “The Second Death.”

    “Decay” is slightly different.

One living can be in a state of decay. A gangrenous affliction, may end in physical ceasing, unless that affliction is removed.

How this might be applied to humankind?

The unregenerate is considered “dead” not in decay.

The regenerate is to separate from the “decay” of the world.

The dead have no capacity to dispose or disposes decay, but the living do.

So, perhaps someone may develop a thread exploring the Biblical use of the words “decay” and “dead”.

Here is a principle that perhaps one should consider that the difference is determined by what is held in the word “life.”

I get that. I don't think I said that they were believers being led to the Gospel.

If you believe those dreams were sent by God, that is up to you.

It is not about what God is able to do, but what He actually does.

The result was that mankind is born spiritually dead. Adam's spiritual condition after the fall is shared by all of humanity. We are all born separated from God.

I guess the question is whether or not those types of dreams are sent by God or Satan. Either way it seems at least some have attributed it to salvation so we can rejoice in that (and you can thank whomever you feel appropriate).

I don't think it is necessary to claim that Satan is involved. I simply don't think that dreams and visions carry any weight when we have a more sure word of prophecy available to us.

I have also noticed that dreams or visions tend to validate a person's own theology regardless of what that theology might be.

As I stated, I do not believe in second or progressive inspiration. The measure of truth is Scripture.

The issue I have is simply dismissung those who claim that they were reached with the gospel through a dream. Perhaps they were exposed to the gospel and do not recall consiously. I do not know. But if the result is salvation I cannot deny the activity of God.

    @agedman ,
In the same dream I saw an older gentleman....an aged man, finding that interesting.

He was wearing boxers, flip flops and eating spaghetti....

You've got to be more specific than that. What is the "unique, internal evidence?"

Fulfilled prophecy, impeccable historical and geographic accuracy, it's detailed doctrinal/theological unity, for starters.
