He didn't come out as "queer," but he has written openly of his struggle with same-sex attraction -- that he resists. There is nothing in his essay that indicates he is doing anything dishonorable.

Should we post stories that describe Baptistboard members as being "adulterers," simply because they experience temptation to be unfaithful, and take active steps to avoid temptation and successfully resist it?

The Pulpit and Pen folks don't seem to know anything about grace. I'm also embarrassed that the Pulpit and Pen story was considered worthy enough to post in this forum. But the standards of Baptistboard have gone way down over the last decade, so I shouldn't be surprised.

I have to say that the folks over at P&P are not worth repeating. Not a good source.

Christianity Today ran the story first. He stated that Jesus did not make him straight, and that he is gay. Is bias vs P&P going to cause a denial of what CT printed?

The real issue is Revoice, not the story of one individual in the movement. Revoice has provided cover for those who want to distance themselves from any mention of sin in regards to "alternative" lifestyles. Ostensibly it was supposed to be about acceptance but we all know what acceptance means in liberal circles. Acceptance means endorsement. Anything short of that is considered hate.

As society continues it's free fall into all sorts of godlessness, there is one good thing about it. Light always shines brightest in the dark. Those churches and Christians that stand firm to biblical truth will definitely stand out as a contrast against sin and wickedness. It will not be easy since society will lash out against them but the contrast will be there.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven

Complain about the OP if you wish. It was the only place I had seen the story reported, other than Christianity Today. Or, rather than complain, provide a better link if you have one.
    It seems that way.
    Right!

Sadly, the rejection is a commission of the genetic fallacy.

Yes. This seems to be a common method in our current atmosphere of hostility. It probably always has been, but it seems worse to me. If someone cites something from Fox, National Review, or Brietbart, the liberals reject it out of hand, and if someone cites something from New York Times WaPo, or HuffPo, the conservatives reject it out of hand. This is not to say that sources are not biased -- most usually are. However, ultimately we have to seek the truth of the content over the problems with the source. I don't deny problems with P&P, but they often report things that you don't hear elsewhere. Once you see it there you can start looking for and comparing other reports (if you can find them).

Searching online I found this interesting article, which also provides numerous related links -- including an article by Greg Johnson written in the time leading up to the Revoice Conference.

So this will not surprise you either, I find the Pulpit and Pen to be worthwhile every time I visit. Knock me over with a feather-we disagree, yet again. I guess it’s similar to my reaction to posts here linked to WaPo, or CNN. And...never the twain shall meet.

I read the Tim Challies blog article a while back. He rightly anticipated what would come out of the conference before it took place.
