It looks like the pro gun control folks have come up with a new excuse. It's called the "semi-automatic mechanism" and all guns that incorporate it should now be banned. These people will stop at nothing to demonize firearms and those who use them. Semi-automatic firearms are a 100 + year old technology. Guns.jpg

Yes one of my sons doctored a .45 automatic pistol and it sprayed out the magazine rounds just by holding the trigger down.

I don't know what he did. He did have some kind of federal gunsmith or dealer license.
it was scary at first to use it but I liked it after a little practice. Very wasteful of reload material.
Difficult for accuracy control but effective as a weapon (I shot EXPERT my last year in the USAF).

He created an illegal firearm. Foolish acts like that give opponents of firearms cause to ban them.

You can see things like that on YouTube, mostly coming out of Russia.

Are you all aware that the plans for a 3D printed gun were put on the internet and anyone with a good 3D printer can obtain a gun? No background checks, no training, no mcontrol.

Not if he had the proper license, which Hank alluded to.

actually now that I think back it was not my son who had the license but my brother in law who did not and altered his .45 to fire as an automatic weapon. I asked him to fix it back because of the danger. He and my son liked to fire it. My son had the reloading equipment. I wasn't sure if it was illegal. The gun fired contentiously when the trigger was held down. Not altogether sure if that made it illegal. I thought it did. We lived in rural Maine.

Yeup, that made it illegal without the proper license.

My son had the licens(es) not sure what they were for. He was able to manufacture firearms, reload/sell ammunition.
Was in Navy Law Enforcement, Vet, Honorable Discharge. He did reloads for his uncle who owned the .45.

I realize there were no automatic firearms in 1776 so the constitution could not have possibly banned them.

Therefore technically "machine guns" are not prohibited by the constitution.
Of course nether are nuclear devices.

Mark my words, should semi-automatic firearms be banned it wouldn't be long before they decided revolvers were too dangerous for people to have, especially those in the larger "man killing" calibers. And that pump shotgun that is currently allowed will eventually be called a "weapon of war" because it was used quite effectively during our many armed conflicts. Last but not least, it will then be on to that deer rifle of yours, you know the one with a scope on it? Yes I mean that soon to be called "sniper rifle". Yes indeed, they will all be deemed terrible weapons that should not be allowed on our streets.

True I am sure if it ever reaches a marxist overthrow of the government which BTW is perfectly legal if a non violent ballot oriented takeover by the electoral majority so desires.

If it does then there will no doubt be bloodshed from the MINORITY irredeemable deplorables clinging to their bibles and firearms reeking of the Walmart stink when the destruction of the Bill of Rights occurs.

No doubt the entire constitution will undergo plastic surgery when socialism is ushered in by the then elderly citizens the millennials.

But by then I will be too feeble minded to know or care about it (almost there already), but maybe not.

    You're denying reality again.

I will say that there are now more automatic Glock handgun videos that are apparently videoed in the United States than there used to be about two years ago (the last time I looked), but a number of the earlier ones were Russian.

Who has made the claim that the Constitution has banned automatic weapons?

The National Firearms Act of 1934, banned automatic weapons in almost all instances. It also banned destructive devices, which includes bombs, explosive missiles, poison gas, etc.

You're not making any sense. Who has claimed Russia should protect the Second Amendment?

I don't think anyone ever said it did.

A while back, you inexplicably (and falsely) claimed that I was anti-gun as well as anti-Bible. Are you still laboring under that delusion, thinking your non-sensical posts are somehow making a case for gun ownership? They do not. They make me think you are confused.
