This little method although seemingly a foregone conclusion I have found in reality is not by any stretch. This type of study is rarely if ever mentioned by men but is the central theme of Scripture (Man shall not live by bread alone). No matter where you feel you are in your walk with God this study program will change you. Even the most seemingly solidly grounded of believers will benefit from this little idea, it is guaranteed by God. Faith comes by HEARING and hearing by the Word of God. Hearing God's Word without the commentary (tradition) that makes the Word of none effect. Try this, let the Spirit guide you in all truth.

Although seemingly mundane as far as systems of belief go, no big shots names to elevate, no frills, no flash, no commentary or merchandise to buy, only God's Word in the archaic, hard to understand King's english. Find Scourby narrated KJV New Testament Books on youtube and you are ready to begin.

God's Word is the ultimate test of your faith. If you are truly seeking God's Truth, He will reveal it to you so listen as if your life depends upon it (because it probably does). To start, set aside all time you normally devote to sermon/commentary study and divert it all to this.

Listen to all the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) first and repeat them five times in a row consecutively. Then the Book of Acts five times in a row, then the remainder of the New Testament Epistles (Romans all the way through Jude). Repeat them five times, then you will be far more prepared for the Book of Revelation than you ever thought you could be. You will be assured of the Spirit's presence as you understand more and more by God's Word and God's Spirit (Like He said in John 3:8). God made clear that "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God". You will truly understand what this means as you discover new truths every time you intently listen praying for the Holy Spirit's Guidance. You will find yourself pausing the script and opening your Bible, saying to yourself - I never saw this before in its true context. Soon you will know that peace that HE KNOWS YOU. You will discover whether your house was built on sand (wolves in sheep's clothing doctrine) or on the Solid Rock of Christ's teachings.Soon you will clearly see every teaching of Christ rephrased, reiterated and reinforced throughout all the Epistles and Revelation. Then repeat this whole plan again and again, you will never get enough of it and you will never find it boring.

Listening to His Word defines clearly every context of the Scriptures. When context is truly captured, so will the definitions of every archaic word. You will see how context provides definition in every single case. After repetitive listening and walking with God in His Word, The Spirit will connect dots you never imagined before and you will see His Word from a strategic viewpoint. The Spirit of Truth will become clear as it debunks the previous spirit of error. You may very well discover that God's Opinion differs greatly from the opinions you previously had regardless of sect or system.

If sincere, the likely affect will be that you will find yourself being freed from the system of belief or camp you were brainwashed into. In most cases, this will save your eternal life. You will see that most if not all doctrine you stood so vehemently for is not found in contextual New Testament Scripture.

All I am pleading with you to do is to listen only to God's Word. Without gimmicks or opinion. There is a strong chance most who read this have never received enough of His Word, unadulterated. This is your chance, devote hours daily, including your commutes to this and this only. Saturate yourself in His Word and you will find the peace of God from God, not from men's plucked out reassurances. Take this challenge, what do you have to lose.......besides everything.

You mean early 17th century British English.

Personally, I choose to listen to the NLT in modern Early 21st century-American.

Breathe Bible NLT Audio New Testament

Thank you for the encouraging post, sir, and while I appreciate the words, I do read the AV every day.
It's been a blessing to me, and it really is refreshing to my soul.

    Precisely...
    The King's English.;)
I would, except that I think that in the process of re-translating the Bible into modern English, someone made some mistakes:

"36 As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?”
38 He ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip baptized him."
( Acts of the Apostles 8:36-38. NLT ).

" And as they went on [their] way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, [here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him."
( Acts of the Apostles 8:36-38, AV )

That's odd...something is missing in the NLT.

I'll trust something else, because I really want to be sure that I have every word that God spoke ( Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:4 )
I've tried to find something newer that doesn't take away from what I grew up with, but cannot seem to find one, as yet.
So, @poor-in-spirit 's advice above, seems to be well-offered...at least to me.

    May God bless you.:)

No, The King's English came out in 2011, over 4 centuries after the KJV.
    ;)

I think that in the process of propagandizing the Bible into English that only the King would approve of, someone made some mistakes.

    Mark 7:19 KJV
Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

    Mark 7:19 NLT
Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)

That's odd...something is missing in the KJV.

Oh noes, you're missing some of the words that God says!

Is there anything The Holy Spirit and The Word of God can not Do? (apart from sin?)

They can Make an axe head float.

"I Am The God of all flesh, is anything too hard for Me".

Saturation in The Word of God, as suggested, must Usher in The Presence of God.

What is it that The Might of Almighty Jesus, Walking into your room, can't eliviate, cure, relieve from, supply, etc.

I say we take the route to The Grace of God, He has Provided.

Let me know if anyone is worried about something, after a few books.

I find that following along and actually 'reading a half of a word', etc., ahead, then allowing the audio to send it into my head to be a fanominal Joy.

Letting the audio 'pronounce the hard words' and keep touring on, through book after book, to be Glorious.

This is one of The Best Kept Secrets, ever.

It should fill stadiums and broadcasts, and our living rooms full of friends, Worldwide.

I'm going to try it on the homeless that drop by.

It might be as good a ticket out of a hospital, mental place, jail, bad relationship, and business block, on & on, as any.

(We need to ask God to help us resolve this 'translation' edition thing, for His people, as we are CONSUMED BY HIS LOVE LETTER TO US ABOUT HIM!!!!!)

In the NLT, the part you've bolded has been added, probably because the translators took the liberty to add things they thought it said, and even "editorialized it" like someone putting their own comments into a newspaper article with their own pencil.
As I see it, if the translators of the NLT wanted to add their own notes to the text, they could have at least done it in the margins like the Puritans or C.I. Schofield did, instead of leading the reader to think it was actually part of the very word of God.

I'd hate to be them on Judgment Day.:Sick
Not in the Greek there isn't:

    https://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/NTpdf/mar7.pdf

...and, as you may imagine, I disagree.
I'm not missing any of His words, even though they may be harder to understand with my American English from the 1970's until now.

Again, I'll stick to the word of God...
Not some paraphrase that a group of "translators" took their liberties with.
As I see it, you're better off using the NKJV than what you're currently using.

If you hate the "KJV" or the other Reformation-era Bibles, then I can understand why...
They are harder to read with respect to today's English.
But if you're happy using the NLT, then I respect that.

    May God bless you sir.:)

Nope it's in the Greek. The NLT didn't add a single thing. They used a higher level of communication and English skills than you have been using.

That is where you don't understand the joke. If you actually understood late 16th century/ early 17th century English, you would know the KJV included the same words as the NLT but messed up the translation so badly, they got the meaning completely wrong.

Notice where the question mark in the KJV is.

Mark 7:19 Interlinear: because it doth not enter into his heart, but into the belly, and into the drain it doth go out, purifying all the meats.'

But it's not just that. Do you know what the words mean in this passage in late 16th century English? From what I can tell from your previous posts equating Unicorns to Rhinos, I doubt you do. If you did, you might understand how badly they messed up this one passage.

I don't begrudge the translators though. They were trying to do the best they could in a situation where the Bible had not been widely read by Christians for over a thousand years.

The KJV is written in a foreign language which 99.9% of the population no longer understands, about half of all Christians think they understand, and 100% of all English teachers think they understand it. And this is the problem with the KJV. For some, they freely admit they don't understand and end up with an unread Bible or listening to a YouTube audio they don't understand. Other's insist on being able to understand early modern English while foolishly using a Webster's dictionary to look up words they don't know.

Really? You've got to judge hundreds of Bible translators to hell.

That's great. And I don't mind you using KJV. However, whenever someone is handing people the KJV, I'll hand them a Bible in their language.

    I totally disagree.

There is little if any real people who do not understand and use the words found commonly in the KJV.

There may be a word occasionally that is troublesome, but they are rare.

I used the KJV for decades, took up the NASB, and more recently the ESV. There is virtually no doctrinal difference in any of those, and the reading level is nearly the same.

The high school graduate has plenty of education and should have plenty of ability to read with understanding textual materials of far greater difficulty than any of the three mentioned.

If there is one simple rule believers should engage, it is read with understanding.

It isn't the words, it isn't the structure, it is coming to terms with understanding and meditating upon the Word.

    But then, millennials .....

Little good is coming from that group.
