    Greetings,

While taking a course in homiletics at Bethel Theological Seminary in pursuit of my M. Div, I was required to preach a sermon from any passage in 2 Corinthians. I decided to preach a sermon on 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 and any constructive feedback would be very much appreciated. I will point out that there is a point where I misspoke and said the passage was from 1 Corinthians instead of 2 Corinthians. The sermon is roughly 35 minutes long and it was preached while deployed in a non-disclosed location in the middle east. The target audience is military service members currently deployed. Enjoy.

If the sermon is over 20 minutes, I'll turn into a pumpkin.

I don't like it when that happens, so I can't help you on this one. :(

OK like Aaron I get a little droopy after 20 minutes but it seems that this is a preaching requirement.
Other than that since you asked for constructive feedback - i would have ended with

    1 Peter 4
12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Not only the day-by-day sufferings but the fiery trial that is ours to come in that it is glorious because enduring it we emulate Christ when it comes and we are glad.

    And the comfort
Matthew 4:11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Thank You for your service and the LORD bless you in His ministry to you of His word.

In the 21st century American Church we may not all have a colossal fiery trial/

I believe the LORD holds back somewhat because of American Christian generosity to missions, church planters, orphanages (overseas), food banks, etc, etc...
