    1 John 5

16If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask and God will for him give life to those who commit sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death; I do not say that he should make request for this. 17All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.

All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death. Meaning.... All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.

Another small point. You can't be lead to death if you are already, have always been dead. This person is alive, a brother and committing sin leading to death.

    Samuels,

" Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
    ( John 11:25-26 )

Believers shall never die, spiritually ( John 11:26 ).
They have passed from death unto life, permanently ( John 5:24 ).
Since those that continue in belief and faith sow forth the evidence that they are born again ( John 8:41, Colossians 1:23 ), then the death being spoken of in 1 John 5:16 is physical, not spiritual:

" If any man see his brother sin a sin [which is] not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not."
    ( 1 John 5:16 ).

Those that are born of God do not willfully, with the heart, commit sin:

" Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother."
    ( 1 John 3:9 )

Genuine believers, who are new creatures in Christ ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 ), cannot become "un-born again".
They abide ( rest ) in Christ and His finished work for them ( 1 John 3:6 ), and their new natures, their "hearts" or the "seed of God" does not sin ( 1 John 3:9 ).
They are sealed unto the day of redemption by the Holy Spirit ( Ephesians 1:13 ).

They wrestle with the flesh ( Romans 7:14-25, Galatians 5:17 ) until they die, the Holy Spirit overcoming the wicked flesh for them ( Romans 8:9-11, Galatians 5:16 ).

But "tares", who think they are saved because of something they do for God, can and do fall away.:(
Again, please see the parables of the sower and the tares of the field in Matthew 13.

"Believers shall never die, spiritually ( John 5:24 )."

He never said that. He said never DIE PERIOD. The word SPIRITUALLY is not a WESTERN PAGAN IDEA of PRETEND or 2nd class reality. In fact adding the word "spiritual" makes even more completely true.

You guys got a bad habit of adding adjectives to draw multiple meanings when a word does not fit your story.

"Those that are born of God do not willfully, with the heart, commit sin:"
He tells you LEADING TO DEATH. Your theology is a reprobate HAS NEVER BEEN ALIVE.

Picture a ladder and a guy laying on the ground. The reprobate is the guy laying on the ground. He's never fallen and he can't die, because he's already at the bottom and already dead.

    HOLY SCRIPTURE:

All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.

    CALVINISM:

All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a SINNER not leading to death.

Yeah that stupidity is known as LICENSE TO SIN.

"Genuine believers, who are new creatures in Christ ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 ), cannot become "un-born again"."

Actually according to your theology. ONCE BORN. You start DEAD then BORN ONCE.

BORN AGAIN means you had life prior.

In fact you were never "SAVED" because you were NEVER in danger. From the foundation of CREATION you were already BORN ONCE.

    1 John 5

10The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.11And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.

When a person DENIES GOD they SAY GOD IS A LIAR. WHY because they don't believe the Testimony.

What is the testimony? And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son."

The reprobate does not believe "GOD HAS GIVEN ME ETERNAL LIFE and this LIFE is in his son"

Is the REPROBATE a LIAR or HONEST?

You would say REPROBATE is COMPLETELY HONEST.

IF a reprobate says I don't believe Jesus died for me. You say he is telling the TRUTH. Because you believe Jesus never died for any reprobate.

Scripture says HE IS MAKING GOD A LIAR. Because the LIE the reprobate accepts is Jesus did not die for him.

Even our past was the future at the time when Jesus was crucified.

From the standpoint of Cross, all the future sins were forgiven in advance!, let alone the sins of the past before Cross.

Do you need another sacrifice for your future sins?

If you think so, you are not saved! sorry!

Let's move from Kindergarden to a much higher level of understanding:

Did you know there are two types of sin taught in the Old Testament,
    our schoolmaster of God's ways?
John speaks of the two types in 1 John 5:16-17.
Sins unto death (breaking the major commandments of God,
which anyone breaking one of the 10C were put to death), and
sins NOT unto death - unintentional, unwilful sins that
even one walking in the Spirit could commit.
God looks at the heart, and these unintentional sins that are not committed
in full knowledge and rebellion against God, He automatically cleanses.
1 John 1:7 depicts one walking in the Spirit, and the blood of Jesus is cleansing all his sins.
1 John 2:1 tells us it is possible to not sin (even unintentionally).
But if you do sin unintentionally while walking in the Spirit,
we have an Advocate that is cleansing those sins.
Note there is no mention there of repenting,
which you would have to do if the sin was in rebellion against God's laws.
No! Jesus is the Advocate for those abiding in Him and walking in His Spirit.
Those who commit willful sins against God's laws, Jesus says, "I never knew you."
Doesn't sound like He is their Advocate, does it.
If you want to see Old Testament teaching look at Leviticus 5:15 (unintentional sin),
and Numbers 15:22-36 (sacrifice, like an Advocate, for unintentional sin,
but NO SACRIFICE covered willful sins - they killed them.
There are "besetting sins"--those that we frequently fall into without even thinking about it.
