Again with strawman arguments. Why not address my view?

    1) Do we earn God's love? Nope, He loved us when we were yet sinners.
    2) Do we merit forgiveness of our sins? Nope, it is by grace alone.

Who said the lost allows God to worship them? Gross again and again. Falsehood again and again. Twaddle again and again.

There is no actual support for the TULI of the TULIP in scripture. None, zip, nada.

I do not identify with J. Calvin due to his antisemitism revealed in this text:

    Anti-Semitism of the "Church Fathers"
"Their [the Jews] rotten and unbending stiffneckedness deserves that they be oppressed unendingly and without measure or end and that they die in their misery without the pity of anyone.

Excerpt from "Ad Quaelstiones et Objecta Juaei Cuiusdam Responsio," by John Calvin; The Jew in Christian Theology, Gerhard Falk, McFarland and Company, Inc., Jefferson, NC and London, 1931."

However, I do not find his view of scripture associated with TULIP to be un-biblical.

The Five Points of Calvinism, TULIP
"Basically, Calvinism is known by an acronym: T.U.L.I.P.

Total Depravity (also known as Total Inability and Original Sin)
    Unconditional Election
Limited Atonement (also known as Particular Atonement)
    Irresistible Grace
Perseverance of the Saints (also known as Once Saved Always Saved)

These five categories do not comprise Calvinism in totality. They simply represent some of its main points.

    Total Depravity:

Sin has affected all parts of man. The heart, emotions, will, mind, and body are all affected by sin. We are completely sinful. We are not as sinful as we could be, but we are completely affected by sin.

The doctrine of Total Depravity is derived from scriptures that reveal human character: Man’s heart is evil (Mark 7:21-23) and sick Jer. 17:9). Man is a slave of sin (Rom. 6:20). He does not seek for God (Rom. 3:10-12). He cannot understand spiritual things (1 Cor. 2:14). He is at enmity with God (Eph. 2:15). And, is by nature a child of wrath (Eph. 2:3). The Calvinist asks the question, "In light of the scriptures that declare man’s true nature as being utterly lost and incapable, how is it possible for anyone to choose or desire God?" The answer is, "He cannot. Therefore God must predestine."

Calvinism also maintains that because of our fallen nature we are born again not by our own will but God’s will (John 1:12-13); God grants that we believe (Phil. 1:29); faith is the work of God (John 6:28-29); God appoints people to believe (Acts 13:48); and God predestines (Eph. 1:1-11; Rom. 8:29; 9:9-23).

    Unconditional Election:
God does not base His election on anything He sees in the individual. He chooses the elect according to the kind intention of His will (Eph. 1:4-8; Rom. 9:11) without any consideration of merit within the individual. Nor does God look into the future to see who would pick Him. Also, as some are elected into salvation, others are not (Rom. 9:15, 21).

    Limited Atonement:
Jesus died only for the elect. Though Jesus’ sacrifice was sufficient for all, it was not efficacious for all. Jesus only bore the sins of the elect. Support for this position is drawn from such scriptures as Matt. 26:28 where Jesus died for ‘many'; John 10:11, 15 which say that Jesus died for the sheep (not the goats, per Matt. 25:32-33); John 17:9 where Jesus in prayer interceded for the ones given Him, not those of the entire world; Acts 20:28 and Eph. 5:25-27 which state that the Church was purchased by Christ, not all people; and Isaiah 53:12 which is a prophecy of Jesus’ crucifixion where he would bore the sins of many (not all).

    Irresistible Grace:
When God calls his elect into salvation, they cannot resist. God offers to all people the gospel message. This is called the external call. But to the elect, God extends an internal call and it cannot be resisted. This call is by the Holy Spirit who works in the hearts and minds of the elect to bring them to repentance and regeneration whereby they willingly and freely come to God. Some of the verses used in support of this teaching are Romans 9:16 where it says that "it is not of him who wills nor of him who runs, but of God who has mercy"; Philippians 2:12-13 where God is said to be the one working salvation in the individual; John 6:28-29 where faith is declared to be the work of God; Acts 13:48 where God appoints people to believe; and John 1:12-13 where being born again is not by man’s will, but by God’s.
鄭ll that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out," (John 6:37).

    Perseverance of the Saints:
You cannot lose your salvation. Because the Father has elected, the Son has redeemed, and the Holy Spirit has applied salvation, those thus saved are eternally secure. They are eternally secure in Christ. Some of the verses for this position are John 10:27-28 where Jesus said His sheep will never perish; John 6:47 where salvation is described as everlasting life; Romans 8:1 where it is said we have passed out of judgment; 1 Corinthians 10:13 where God promises to never let us be tempted beyond what we can handle; and Phil. 1:6 where God is the one being faithful to perfect us until the day of Jesus’ return."

Your idea of God is still going to fry all the Jews, makes Calvin look like a saint by comparison.

He's going to put heavenly concentration camps for all the Jews who died as Jews at the hands of Nazis. Then he is going to throw them in a lake of fire, "ALL TO HIS GLORY, HAIL GOD!, HAIL VICTORY!"

If someone's master and idol is Hitler and said they were not Nazis, What would think of them?
He calls Hitler Good, He says his righteousness is above ours.

God Addresses your view that "God does not Work all things after The Cousel of His Own Will",

when you say "God Works your 'salvation' after The Counsel of your will",

when when you say "God Works your 'salvation' after your work of your faith",

when He Said, "God Works all things after The Counsel of His Own Will".

Those Bible Teachings are Truely Glorious, Eternal, and God-Honoring.

They are are compendium of God's Teaching, regarding His One Covenant of Eternal Salvation Made
by The Triune Godhead, in Eternity Past.

The Infinite Facts in The Spiritual Realm of Reality listed in the first one, is the rational explanation to Saved souls for the reason lost souls can not Spiritually decern it, or the other four.

    ...

This position may be the first statement that I have ever read, by Calvin'.

Sounds similar to a Fig Tree cursed to no longer bear fruit and vanish away.

If this is not in store for the Jews, they would be brought up by Jesus somewhere in Matthew 13.

Calvin was writing long after The Bible.

Their [the Jews] rotten and unbending stiffneckedness deserves that they be oppressed unendingly and without measure or end and that they die in their misery without the pity of anyone.

Yet another denial of scripture, more putting words in my mouth, more fallacies to support false doctrine.

Ephesians 1:11 NASB In Him "also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,"

    Analysis:

    1) We, born anew believers, have obtained an inheritance when we were placed "in Him." Not before.

    2) Those placed in Christ are then predestined to obtain the inheritance. Not before.

    3) God's purpose was to choose for Himself a people for His own possession.

    4) God achieves His purpose through the implementation of His redemption plan, which works all things after the counsel of His will.

    1) We, born anew believers, have obtained an inheritance when we were placed "in Him." Not before. Believers in Jesus Christ were placed "in Him" before the foundation of the world ( Ephesians 1:4-5 ), not after.

    2) Those placed in Christ are then predestined to obtain the inheritance. Not before. Again, their inheritance was a sure thing...from the foundation of the world ( Matthew 25:34, 1 Peter 1:4 )

Ephesians 1:4-5 indicates when God chose His Redeemer, the result was our corporate election because you do not choose a Redeemer without a plan to redeem, thus He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world. Why could this not be an individual election. Because 1 Peter 2:9-10 says we lived not as a people, so we could not have been chosen individually before creation. It is a lock.

Matthew 25:34 refers to "from" or since the foundation of the world, not before.
1 Peter 1:4 simply says our inheritance is reserved in heaven for us, it does not say we did not obtain that inheritance when we were born anew. Because we did.

Recall James 2:5 which says we were chosen as poor to the world (which means we existed in the world when chosen for salvation individually) and that we were rich in faith, again requiring we were alive and had accepted the gospel, and also that we were heirs to the kingdom promised to those who love God, again requiring that we were alive and loved God.

Ephesians 1:4-5 clearly states that believers were chosen "in Him", before the foundation of the world.
There is no such "animal" as "corporate election" that only seeks to sidestep God's right to have mercy and compassion upon whom He wills ( Romans 9:14-16 ).

" But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10 which in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy."
    ( 1 Peter 2:9-10 ).

In time past ( during the events of the "Old Testament" under the Law of Moses ), the Gentiles were not revealed to be a part of God's manifesting Himself to men. But now, under the new testament in Christ's blood, Gentile believers are known as part of those people, grafted into the olive tree ( Romans 11:13-32 ) by God.
This mystery was not made known until the Lord showed Peter and Paul, and was only alluded to by Jesus Christ ( John 10:16 ).
See Ephesians 2:11-18, where the prophecy of the Gentiles being made one with the Jews in salvation is but one place it is revealed.

    Finally,
Election is definitely a lock...a double one.
No man can come to the Father except through Christ ( John 14:6 ), and no one can come to Christ except the Father draw him ( John 6:44 ).

God's eternal mercy extends to those He has decided to save and no one else.

From the foundation is from the moment God decided to make the world.
    Not after day 7.

You appear to understand it one way, I understand it another.
1 Peter 1:4 simply says a bit more than an inheritance that is reserved in Heaven for the believer.
    It says:

" to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you," ( 1 Peter 1:4 ).

We did not obtain it when we were born anew, we "obtained it" as a gift from the moment the Lord set His mind to reserving a people for Himself.

That gift ( an eternal relationship with God through Jesus Christ ) was determined when the Lord bestowed it upon the elect, those who would later become believers in His Son...in eternity past ( 1 Peter 1:20 ).
The gift of eternal life, which is to know God and His Son ( John 17:2-3 ).
Christ, our inheritance, sits at the right hand of God the Father and is reserved in Heaven for us until He comes again.

" After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I [am] thy shield, [and] thy exceeding great reward." ( Genesis 15:1 )

God is our shield and exceeding great reward...not pleasures or earthly riches, like so many today have their eyes fixed on.:Notworthy

    Recall James 2:5 which states,

" Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? "

Has God not chosen the poor of this world, rich in faith?

Has God not chosen the poor of this world, heirs of the kingdom which He has promised to them that love Him?
Yes, He has...He did the choosing, and did not rely on our "choice"...one which we would only have chosen against, were it left up to us.

    There are no "requirements".
    There is only evidence.

Otherwise, salvation is by works...man's efforts.

The poor of this world that are rich in faith are true believers.
    They are the elect.
The are not blind to the Gospel ( 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 ), but are alive unto God ( Romans 6:1-11 ).
They have believed the Gospel of their salvation ( John 3:16, John 3:36, John 5:24 )...not to gain salvation, but because they already have it.

Christ's sheep follow Him, because they are His sheep....not to become His sheep.
No man can perform an act that takes one from being lost, to being saved...not even belief.
That is false doctrine and violates Romans 11:5-6 as well as Ephesians 2:9.

Belief is a gift ( Philippians 1:29 ) that accompanies God's gift of eternal life..a gift among many.:)

The saved were determined from the foundation of the world, at the time the Lord decided to create it ( Ephesians 1:4-5 ), not after its creation.
They were always saved, and never in any danger of being lost.

Christ came and died for them, and for no one else ( Matthew 1:21, John 10:11 ).

What offends so many today, is that God did all of this according to the counsel of His own will, and not man's.
We weren't even consulted in the entire affair.:Thumbsup

I have presented the obvious truth, and you have denied, (1) corporate election, (2) we were once not a people chosen by God, and (3) 1 Peter 2:9-10 is addressed to believers. There is nothing I can say to present scriptural truth with more clarity.

Good grief, God chose those poor to the world, rich in faith, and heirs to the kingdom, therefore a conditional election. And I see you too claim faith is works, ignoring Romans 4:4-5.

As I said before, there is nothing more I can say when you deny obvious scriptural truth.

The interpretation of the scripture (his hermeneutic) is perhaps nonsense.
But where Alan directly quotes scripture that cannot be nonsense.
For a believer scripture itself cannot be nonsense.

If the interpretation is at fault and if you call his hermeneutic nonsense then the Rules of Debate require a rebuttal.

I'll give a rebuttal in the next post

But Alan God makes the rules not you.

    Remember our dialogue about Cain.
Cain and GOD apparently had an UNDERSTANDABLE discourse or why should GOD even talk to Cain?

ALSO the dead can hear the Gospel and reject it.

John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

BOTH CLAUSES in the first clause All the dead SHALL hear HIS VOICE (future indicative - hear with ears).
Second clause: and they that hear shall live (Aorist indicative - those who hearken) shall live.

Felix and Agrippa illustrate this truth of hearing, understanding yet rejecting

    Felix:
Acts 24:25 And as he (Paul/Felix) reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

    Agrippa:
Acts 26:28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

    They almost did, Hank:

" When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth [it] not, then cometh the wicked [one], and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side." ( Matthew 13:19 )

He was like the multitude that attend church, or read the bible, or have gone to a Crusade, who heard the Gospel message, and yet kept on denying Jesus to save them from their sins!

So, the suffix, 'pre', means, 'after'.

Yet more evidence the post cannot grasp basic truths. If God plans, predestines, to raise every person He puts in Christ, those affected are not predestined to be raised until they are put in Christ. So simple a child could understand it.
