Nothing about your statement address the fact the lost can understand spiritual milk. Just read 1 Corinthians 3:1-2

No one said the lost can understand spiritual meat (solid food). Folks, you are seeing a smoke screen to hide screed.

"as to men of flesh" refers to folks without the Spirit.

You are certainly acting like the expert of Greek.

I translated the whole verse in post 66

    Someone who can read Greek.

The were behaving like fleshly people. They ARE people without the Spirit. To say that since people with the Spirit can understand spiritual milk, means those without the Spirit can understand spiritual milk as well is a logical fallacy.

Paul is calling them weak and sin. That is what the Greek is saying.

Paul uses ψυχικός (psychikos) to describe those without the Spirit in 2:14....and they are unable to understand.

Note yet another post addressing my qualifications.
The charge, I am acting like I am an expert in Greek is a falsehood. I have posted many times I know nothing of Greek, but I can use an interlinear, and so I knew which word you were trying to trap me with.

However, your inability to grasp the truth of 1 Corinthians 3:1-2 indicates a reading issue. You have yet to address that fact Paul spoke to the babes in Christ as if they were men of flesh.

Obfuscation on display as this post constructs a strawman.

Why not address the fact 1 Cor. 2:14 does not say natural people cannot understand spiritual milk?

On and on they post, generating a smoke screen to hide the truth, Paul indicated men of flesh (those without the Spirit) can understand spiritual milk. Just read 1 Corinthians 3:1-2.

3 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able,

Paul had to speak to the infants in Christ the same way he would speak to men of flesh using spiritual milk. Therefore people without the Spirit can understand spiritual milk.

Spiritual milk is of the Spirit. Therefore covered by the "things of the Spirit of God".

He says nothing of the sort. He contradicts this in 2:14.

Paul's expects those with the Spirit to understand in chapter 3. He never addresses the lost understanding spiritual milk.

You are looking for an implication that is not there.

The things of the Spirit refers to some of the things (Spiritual Solid Food).

Denial of the obvious. 1 Corinthians 3:1-2
3 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able,

Those babes were still saved, in Christ, so had the Holy Spirit able to open them up to the scriptures, but natural man has no help to discern that!

I am not a fan of the NIV.

Personally, it just isn't worthy, however, there are those who need something of that level in which to rely.

Frankly, all "versions" are a work in progress.

The modern English is changing, and, although some would like to suggest otherwise, the reading level of the typical U. S. high school graduate does not reach to 12th grade. Most don't read better than 8th.

Having that level of reading comprehension, the NIV is meeting a certain need.

But, those of us educated, who desire more than the average bear, have a wealth of tools available.

    For example:

Paul tells Timothy that he is "ready to be delivered." That word "delivered" is a neat word that means unyoked.

Picture the burdens of this world, the yoke of bondage the world seeks to place upon believers, the yoke of service and struggles believers persevere, and that such an unyoking by Christ takes place as He who is with us always also ushers us into His presence.

    For example:

It is as finding the word calling and called are two different words in the original and how they exchange places as one reads the opening of Ephesians 4.

Such is not (imo) for the NIV readers, who generally take a more casual approach to the Scriptures

Seriously dedicated will tease out far more, and be able to present more clearly the teachings of the truth.

What does bother me is when obstinate refusal is portrayed even after very careful and precise presentation of the original language is rendered in the English.

It gets to the point that one just leaves the argument knowing that learning is not taking place, and that abiding in some comfortable scheme is more important than that of valid verifiable truth.

It is always sad to read absurdity. The things could mean all the things or some of the things. This does not need to be proved, and anyone claiming otherwise behaving as a partisan hack.

Contextually, some of the things are spiritual milk, and some are spiritual solid food (meat). Paul indicates "men of flesh" can understand spiritual milk.
