Well we have been prepping for the big one in California for years... Supposedly for an earthquake that is going to break off California and it is going to head to who knows where?... And anyone that has read previous news knows how fires started someway by nature or others tried to burn down the state... But we are still here... And referred to as the Shake and Bake State!

There have been reports that in the past many have had their finger on the button ready to push it and start a war to end all wars... But it never happened yet... And I don't think it ever will... God is not going to let man completely destroy what he created... He will destroy and cleanse it him self... He did it once by water and we know according to scripture, there is coming a time he will do it by fire.

So right now we have a full pantry and not to stock up for a end of the world disaster... Somebody is watching to much Hollywood Movies and TV and reading to many Doomsday Books... This brother and the missus get hungry so we go shopping and fill it... And in my belief the Lord could come anytime... That's the only thing I'm prepping for!... Brother Glen:)

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

More than eight years before Obama, many responded to the Y2K fearmongering by prepping big time. Many influential in Christian circles were pushing that paradigm, some for sordid gain.

Strange coincidence that prepping was mentioned by me, in EW&F’s thread on recession, & voila, we get a thread by 47 about paranoid preppers. Way to direct the narrative. I don’t care for mind games......but it looks like somebody wants to play.

I have never as much seen your thread. Ask admins. I’m very particular on the quality of discourses to participate in. I have class;)

Well, I guess I got to strike "earthquake" off of my list of things to experience last month, out at Fort Irwin. I didn't much notice the 6.4, must have been driving off road, but the 7.1 sure got my attention.

I grew up in the frigid north. Having a few weeks worth of food, firewood, lamp oil...it wasn't considered prepping, per se. It was just what everyone did.

Now it's hurricanes. And it's likely that when one hits bad, I'll be called away, so having ample supplies for the family is a no brainer.

As far as prepping for an economic collapse as a gauge for paranoia, I can't agree. I've had the opportunity to speak with plenty of people who've lived through it in their own countries. The former Yugoslavia, Argentina, and the Middle East. I don't suppose it's likely here, but it's not outside the realm of possibility.

My dad was born in 1933, so I was raised by a man who remembered living during the Great depression, while my friends parents were most;ly born in the 50s and 60s.

I heard many stories of my maternal Grandfather’s experiences while growing up during the Depression. Different times. We have it good.

Well brethren I'll tell you one thing, my Dad told me all about the depression and my grandparents too... I hope I never have to live through anything like that and probably won't... According to scripture man is promised three score and ten and I'm already three score ten and three... Good Lord!... I'm passed my expiration date:eek:... Brother Glen;)
