Hmm you insist on ignoring the scriptures posted to you. This is sad for you Dave. I can understand why you do not want to address the posts with scriptures sent to you. You are free to believe as you wish. Ignoring God's Word does not make it dissappear.

    Let's see some more...

JOSHUA 24:15 And IF (conditional) it seem evil to you to serve the Lord, CHOOSE YOU THIS DAY WHO YOU WILL SERVE; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

DEUTERONOMY 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore CHOOSE LIFE THAT BOTH YOU AND YOUR SEED MAY LIVE.

MATTHEW 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

JOHN 3:15-21 [15], That WHOEVER BELIEVES (BELIEVING; Present tense) IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE [16], For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. [17], For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

    wait for it...

[18], HE THAT BELIEVES ON HIM IS NOT CONDEMNED; BUT HE THAT BELIEVES NOT IS CONDEMNED ALREADY BECUASE HE HAS NOT BELIEVED ON THE NAME OF THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD.
[19], And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
[20], For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
[21], But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are worked in God.

God gives us the free will and choice to believe or not believe his Word. If we believe his Word he saves us from our sins. If we choose not to believe God's Word we stay in our sins and are condemned because we do not believe in the Word of God which is God's gift to save us from our sins.

Sorry brother God's Word disagrees with you.

I know who I believe and follow how about you? Those who do not hear him do not know him.

God's Sheep hear His Voice (the Word)

“When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.” Acts 13:48 (NASB95)

Free will would rather say "as many as chose to believe were appointed to eternal life".

You are still under the Old Covenant way of thinking. The New Covenant replaced the Old.

Sorry brother you are confused and do not know the scriptures or the power of God. Let me know if you wish to discuss the scriptures in the posts sent to you. Ignoring God's Word does not make it dissappear.

Why did the gentiles rejoice when they heard this? Yep because they choose to believe God's Word.

You claim the opposite of what the passage says which helps prove my point.

“And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.” Acts 13:48 (KJV 1900)

    1) One of us is confused.

    2) Yes, they were able to hear and understand the gospel, and accepted it to a degree.

    3) We differ on the next point. You apparently believe that when a person believes, they are "automatically saved" whereas I believe that only when and if God credits their "faith" as righteousness, are they transferred into Christ which is salvation.

    4) This passage, and all of scripture supports my OSAS view. Again I point to the "believers" of Matthew 7 who carried out ministry, at least in their minds, but we never saved.

    5) "Enduring" to the end "proves" salvation, rather than "provides" salvation.

When a sinner receives Jesus, that proves that he was one of the Elect of God, and that the Holy Spirit enabled him to have spiritual sight!

No I do not claim the opposite. If I did I would not state in the post you are quoting from that the gentiles rejoiced because they choose to believe God's Word. Your denial of the scriptures and making claims no one has said or believes is sad for you.

Indeed so don't say so with your own words. Believe God's Word. Only God's Word is true and we should believe and follow it. You have been given God's Word and God's Word is not my words but God's. You deny God's Word with your own words which are not God's and if I tell you the truth why do you not believe me?

We are only elect as we believe and follow God's Word. Those who believed yesterday and fall from believing and following God's Word today to return back into a life of known unrepentant sin are no longer God's elect *HEBREWS 6:4-8; HEBREWS 10:26-27; MATTHEW 13:20-21; 2 THESSALONIANS 2:1-12.

Those who are the elect prove that truth by remaining faithful to God until death, as will still sin, but will stay walking with Jesus in the end!

We either believe God's Word as it is written or we do not.

MATTHEW 13:20-21 [20], But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that hears the word, and immediately with joy receives it; [21], Yet has he not root in himself, but ENDURES FOR A WHILE: BUT WHEN TRIBULATION OR PERSECUTION ARISES BECAUSE OF THE WORD, BY AND BY HE IS OFFENDED .

Second seed; in stony places: receives the Word of God and rejoices and ENDURES FOR A WHILE BUT FALLS AWAY because of tribulation and persecution, because they did not receive a LOVE OF THE TRUTH (no root) that they might be saved *2 THESSALONIANS 2:1-12. What ever why you want to look at this scripture brother it only supports what is being shared with you and that is you can RECEIVE GOD'S WORD and FALL AWAY from believing and following it. These are Gods' Word not mine.

    ............

Similar thoughts in the scriptures provided here showing that Believers can fall away from the truth of God's Word back to a life of sin and not be saved...

    2 THESSALONIANS 2:1-13
[1], Now WE (believers) beseech you, BROTHERS (believers), by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together to him,
[2], THAT YOU (believers) BE NOT SOON SHAKEN IN MIND OR BE TROUBLED, NEITHER BY SPIRIT OF BY WORDNOR BY LETTER AS FROM US (believers) AS THE DAY OF THE LORD IS AT HAND.

Note the context here is to fellow believers (brothers; us; we) with a WARNING given not to be DECEIVED, SHAKEN IN MIND (depart the faith) because they day of the Lord is at hand. This is the context of the topic of discussion. Paul continues...

[3], LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU (brothers; believers) BY ANY MEANS: FOR THAT DAY (2nd coming) SHALL NOT COME EXCEPT THERE BE A FALLING AWAY FIRST (of believers), and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.

Note before the 2nd coming of the Lord there WILL BE a FALLING AWAY of BELIEVERS before the antichrist is revealed...

[4], Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
[5], Remember you not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
[6], And now you know what withholds that he might be revealed in his time.
[7], For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now lets will let, until he be taken out of the way.
[8], And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
[9], Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
[10], And with all delusion of unrighteousness IN THEM (fallen believers) THAT PERISH; BECAUSE THEY RECEIVED NOT THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH, THAT THEY MIGHT BE SAVED.

Note: the FALLING AWAY described in v3 is because those who fell away from God's Word (brothers fellow believers) were SHAKEN IN MIND v2 and were DECEIVED v3 because they received not the love of the truth v10.

[11], And for this cause God shall send THEM (fallen believers) strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

Note: because these believers had the truth but did not love of the truth (put it before everything in their life) v11, they were shaken in mind v2, became deceived v3, had fallen away from believing and following God's Word v3 and for this cause God let them follow strong delusions to believe a lie v11 because they did not love the truth more than the things of the world v10.

[12], That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Note: the end result of all those who once believed but did not love the truth of God's Word more than the things of the world and choose to turn away from believing the truth of God's Word? They are to be damned, they lose their salvation because they were not born again to love and had pleasure in sin (unrighteousness) *1 JOHN 5:17.

[13], But WE are bound to give thanks always to God FOR YOU BROTHERS beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth

Note: part of the closing statement here who is the being spoken to; Believers or Unbelievers? "FOR YOU BROTHERS" is in reference to those who are BELIEVERS those who did not receive the love of the truth v10 had FALLEN AWAY from the faith v3 because they were SHAKEN IN MIND v2 and DECEIVED v10 because they had pleasure in UNRIGHTEOUSNESS v12 and did not love the truth v10 God sent them strong delusions that they might be damned v12

    .............

Similar thoughts in the scriptures provided here showing that Believers can fall away from the truth of God's Word back to a life of sin and not be saved...

HEBREWS 6:4-8 [4], For it is impossible for those WHO WERE ONCE ENLIGHTENED, and HAVE TASTED THE HEAVENLY GIFT, and WERE MADE PARTAKERS OF THE HOLY GHOST, [5], And have TASTED THE GOOD WORD OF GOD, and THE POWERS OF THE WORLD TO COME,

Who are we talking about here; BELIEVERS of UNBELIEVERS? Were these BELIEVERS Born again christians

    1. Having been enlightened v4;
    2. Having tasted of the Heavenly gift v4;
    3. Having been made partakers of the Holy Ghost v5;
    4. Having tasted of the good Word of God v4;
    5. Having tasted of the power of the world to come v5

[6], IF THEY (believers) SHALL FALL AWAY, to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh and put him to an open shame.

Yep, BELIEVERS having fallen away from the HEAVENLY gift back into sin..

[7], For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes oft on it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God:
[8], But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is near to cursing; WHOS END IS TO BE BURNED.

Yep thier end is to be burned does not sound like they will be going into God's Kingdom not having any REPENTANCE for sin (v6).

and again more WARNINGS from God's Word to believers...

HEBREWS 10:26-27 [26], FOR IF WE (believers) SIN WILLFULLY AFTER THAT WE RECEIVE A KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH, THERE REMAINS NO MORE SACRIFICE FOR SINS, [27], But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Yep seems like those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN are God's Adversaries who will receive the judgments of God. Do you think these people will enter into God's Kingdom?

No brother. It is God's Word not mine that says when we believe we are in a saved state before God. We do not receive eternal life however until we have been tried and endure to the end *JOHN 3:15-21. We have the hope of eternal life today as we believe and follow God's Word *TITUS 1:2; TITUS 3:7; TITUS 2:13; 1 JOHN 3:3; 1 JOHN 3:15; 1 PETER 1:21; 1 PETER 1:3; HEBREWS 6:18; 2 THESSALONIANS 5:8; 2 THESSALOIANS 2:19 etc...

    We receive eternal life when we have been tried and endure temptation to the end (death or 2nd coming) and have been found to continue to believe and follow God's Word *JAMES 1:12; MATTHEW 24:12-13; MATTHEW 10:22; 1 PETER 1:13; HEBREWS 6:11; HEBREWS 3:6;

If we FALL AWAY back to a life of known unrepentant sin and no longer believe and follow God's Word we are not in a saved state before God *HEBREWS 6:4-8; HEBREWS 10:26-27; MATTHEW 7:22-23

No brother they teach the opposite of once saved always saved. If we are once saved always saved why are there so many WARNINGS in God's Word not to depart the faith and return back into a life of sin if it was not possible to do so?
These scriptures do not agree with OSAS which has it's origin from the father of lies first spoken to Eve in the garden of Edan *GENESIS 3:1-5.

If you are once saved always saved why are we WARNED about FALLING AWAY and not enduring to the END and those who do not endure to the end do not receive eternal life? Think it through brother may you perceive.

    Hope this helps.

God's Word teaches that sin is the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil *1 JOHN 3:3-10; 1 JOHN 2:1-4. Salvation is from sin not to continue in sin *JOHN 8:31-36. If you continue in sin you will die because you reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23; ROMANS 8:13. Unless we are born of the Spirit we will not see the Kingdom of Heaven *GALATIANS 5:16; JOHN 3:3-8. Those who continue in known unrepentant sin do not know God *1 JOHN 2:1-4 and need to be born again *1 JOHN 3:6-10.

    God bless

It refers to habitual lifestyle of sinning, not a one time or even a multi time sinning, as the true Child of God will repent at some time....

Overall, I'd say that he didn't agree with you very much.

To me, @Yeshua1 's view of Scripture is very unlike your own.

For example, he doesn't believe in loss of salvation, while you apparently do.
He seems to believe that eternal life is in the possession of the believer at some point long before enduring to the end.
He also believes that God chooses the sinner to salvation, and that salvation is entirely of God ( not a cooperative effort between man and God ), if my observations are correct.

What you see as warnings are warnings to Hebrew believers who were of a nation of people that had a history of backsliding and disobeying God, as a nation.
What you see as "conditions" for salvation, I'm fairly sure he sees as necessary evidences that indicate a child of God, versus a child of the devil.

As for falling away, that is of professing believers, not genuine ones.
Read the parables of the tares and of the sower in Matthew 13.

    Christ's true sheep cannot be lost ( John 5:24, John 10:28-29 ).

But since I cannot speak for him, I can only say what my impressions are after reading his posts for the past 13 months.:)

Seems that he did in realtion to 1 JOHN 3:3-10 which was what I was referring to in the post you quoted from me

There is no such thing as once saved always saved. This is the false Gospel that has it's origin from the father of lies first given in the Garden of Eden to Eve in GENESIS 3:1-5. It is God's Word not mine that teaches that salvation is conditional as shown in the scriptures in the OP and elsewhere for example *HEBREWS 6:4-8; HEBREWS 10:26-27; 2 THESSALONIANS 2:1-12. Salvation is conditional on believing and following God's Word *JOHN 3:15-21. These are God's Word not mine and we should believe and follow them *ROMANS 3:4; ACTS 5:29

According to the scriptures all those who believe and follow God's Word today (present tense; believing now) have the hope of eternal life today *TITUS 1:1-2; TITUS 3:7; COLOSSIANS 1:23; 1 JOHN 3:3; 1 PETER 3:15; 1 PETER 1:21; HEBREWS 3:6; HEBREWS 6:11; JOHN 8:31-32. We do not receive eternal life until we endure temptation to the end and finish the race (death or second coming) *MATTHEW 24:13MARK 13:13HEBREWS 3:13-14HEBREWS 3:6 COLOSSIANS 1:12-14; 23JOHN 8:31-59JOHN 1:71 JOHN 2:24HEBREWS 3:12-14 ROMANS 6:22.

Although we have the hope of eternal life now as we believe and follow God's Word, we must fight the good fight of faith enduring temptation to the end believing and following God's Word in order to receive eternal life.

1 TIMOTHY 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto you are also called, and have professed a good profession before many witnesses.

2 TIMOTHY 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith

God's Word does not say that we receieve eternal life if we fall away and no longer believe and follow God's Word. It also does not say we do not have to endure temptation to the end in order to receive eternal life. We have the hope of eternal life now as we believe and follow God's Word (always present tense) but we must endure temptation to the end to receive eternal life. Those who do not endure temptation to the end are no longer believing and following God's Word so they cannot receive eternal life because JOHN 3:36 is always present tense. Another words if we start off believing and following God's Word then we have the hope of eternal life. If we endure for a little while and fall away and do not continue to believe and follow God's Word, then we have not endured temptation to the end because we are no longer believing and following God's Word therefore we no longer have eternal life because we are no longer believing and following God's Word *2 THESSALONIANS 2:1-3; MATTHEW 24:13; MARK 13:13; HEBREWS 3:13-14; HEBREWS 3:6; HEBREWS 3:12-14; HEBREWS 10:26-27; HEBREWS 6:4-8. Those who have not endured temptation to the end do not have eternal life.

JAMES 1:12 Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him.

Salvation is entirely of God in those who believe his Word *PHILIPPIANS 2:13; MATTHEW 15:1-10; JOHN 3:15-21; 1 JOHN 3:6; JOHN 8:31-36. JESUS died for the sins of the world *JOHN 1:29; JOHN 3:17; JOHN 6:33; JOHN 6:51; JOHN 8:12; ROMANS 5:18; 2 CORINTHIANS 5:14-15; 1 TIMOTHY 2:4-6. Although we know not all men will choose to believe and follow God's Word because men love sin more than they do God *JOHN 3:15-21.

These are your words brother not God's. It is God's Word that says ...

2 Timothy 3:16 [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

1 Corinthians 10:11 [11], Now all these things happened to them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the world are come.

Matthew 4:4 [4], But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

God is not the God of the dead but of the living *MATTHEW 22:32

I believe all of God's Word how about you?

This OP and the scriptures provided look at the HEBREW and GREEK meanings and application of the scriptures using...

IF” (Hebrew) *H518; אם;'im; A primitive particle; used very widely as demonstrative, lo !; interrogitive, whether ?; or conditional, if, although ; also Oh that !, when ; hence as a negative, not: - (and, can-, doubtless, if, that) (not), + but, either, + except, + more (-over if, than), neither, nevertheless, nor, oh that, or, + save (only, -ing), seeing, since, sith, + surely (no more, none, not), though, + of a truth, + unless, + verily, when, whereas, whether, while, + yet.

IF” (Greek) *G1437; אםἐάν; ean; a conditional particle; in case that, provided, etc.; often used in connection with other particles to denote indefiniteness or uncertainty : - before, but, except, (and) if, (if) so, (what-, whither-) soever, though, when (-soever), whether (or), to whom, [who-] so (-ever)., See G3361.

They are active conditions for receiving God's promises or judgments applied within scripture application and context.
