So who is going to be the first to give up rapid travel and heating and cooling to lead a third-world existence? So it seems that the lack of development that perplexes South America, Africa, and much of Asia will continue to satisfy the thirst for power by the left. Where are the demands that the Arab world stop drilling for oil? It turns out that before socialist/communist countries such as Cuba and Venezuela used candles for light, they used to have electricity and electric lights. Air conditioning, which the Catholic Pope dislikes, actually saves lives that otherwise would be lost to heat exhaustion, the lives often of the very old and the very young. Heating also saves lives and hot water makes life more sanitary and helps defeat disease. The use of gasoline vehicles gives us not only private transportation to work but also provides rapid police protection, fire suppression, and ambulance service. Minor children should be in school and not in UN theatrics until science can provide some evidence that carbon emissions are bad and harmful instead of good in that they are necessary for abundant plant life. There is not one iota of scientific evidence that carbon dioxide is bad.

I don't agree with the using little kids to guilt trip us, and bring up an entire generation that hates their elders for generating electricity and driving cars. A generation hooked on such "wicked" things as cotton clothes, scented soap, hamburgers, shampoo, and much more. BBC World News has a special I watch that horrifies me. They do a makeover of a person's life to get them to less of a "carbon footprint." You would not believe the suggestions.

I see your points. I may be biased since I live in Florida and things get biblical down here and across the south due to hurricanes. Has been that way since 2004. The rest of the country may be doing great, though I doubt that given the nightly news and friends in the Midwest. Still I may be reading too much into things. Of course not. The data does not go back very far in time, perhaps 150 years or so. The earth is 6,000 years old and has been through a catastrophic worldwide flood 4300 years ago followed by an Ice Age of 700 years that covered a third of the world. Maybe some of the ice from 3600 years ago is shrinking slightly, but we don't have very good scientists working on the problem. The real issue is sun spots and the effect of the gravity of earth, Venus and Jupiter when aligned on the tides within the hydrogen fires of the sun. Aftercall, God cursed the universe 6,000 years ago and that curse is ongoing and affects people, animals, plants, and galaxies.

 

Oh, the left just likes to trot out kids they've brainwashed because when the message is criticized, they can accuse you of being mean to a child. Her parents are both a couple of actors and opera singers, they are using their own emotionally fragile child. The mom gave up her career because she says Greta was getting all upset about the carbon footprints, Greta supposedly forced her entire family to vegan and her parents let her quit school to focus on her indoctrinated message but notice Greta still dresses like an eight-year-old, braids and all. That's deliberate.

She sounds mentally ill. Greenpeace is nuts anyway. None of what she said has any scientific backing except from American mediocrities in the scientific world. There has been no increase in the average for fifteen years. Scientists now think climate is affected mostly by sunspots. Carbon dioxide is not a poison. People and animals have off carbon dioxide and plants use it to make oxygen. God planned it that way. That's not to say that maybe Swedes shouldn't move to Mars, just sayin' Finally, would Obama have paid 15 million for a mansion on the beach at Martha's Vineyard if he thought the seas were rising?

Sure, if the climate scare had depressed that price from an original ask of $25 million. Half of that (hypothetical) difference would build a mighty fine seawall.
Note: I'm a weather hobbyist and love to play with numbers, and my analyses show that temperatures are warmer than 30-60-90 years ago, though most of my figure fiddling is US data. I also believe that if God wished to discipline the world for its idolatry thru warming climate, that's what would happen.

 

There is no indication that Obama is going to ruin his property by building a seawall and anyway it would have to include all of Martha's Vineyard, as you know.

It is indeed shameful exploitation, but these people are deeply hypocritical, so it comes as no surprise. To scream “The earth is warming!” and blame it on mankind is to deny their own science.

Regardless of what causes them, modern science—their own science—indicates the planet has been through several major ice ages and many significant warming and cooling periods, and that we are enjoying an unusually stable time following the last cold peak thousands of years ago.

One way or another, someone is not playing with a full deck. They sound stupid or crazy, and some may be. But others have something up their sleeves and are betting we are too stupid to notice. By the look of things on the left, they are right.
