    Theology expert chides those who wonder how a loving God would send billions to hell:

    "This question is the epitome of theological amateurism."

    He really schools them who'd ask such a "theologically infantile question", for not knowing, as he does, that

    "both Armenians and Calvinists agree" that there is "a limit on atonement, whether the atonement be a general atonement or a limited atonement...if there was no limit on atonement, there would be no dichotomy between saved and unsaved."

    Since when does being forgiven of our sins insure our Salvation? We must believe the gospel to be saved. What is not forgivable is not believing in the gospel. Beside the atonement is not applied where there is no faith yet has the potential to save the entire world.

    Colossians 2:13-14.
    Romans 4:3-8.

    Since the saved are the only ones forgiven of their sins.
    Where can I find the Scriptures that declare ( not imply ) that the atonement and salvation are both "potential" and are only "applied" when a person believes?

    Well, I wouldn't have chided them, and I certainly would not have phrased it anything like he did. :(

    Perhaps he should have simply stated the Scriptures.
    That should have been enough, as I see it.

    You might wait on until eternity future as no such texts exist.
    When people invent unscriptural ideas might be the only time you can see such novelties suggested.

    Sounds about right to me. Whatever you might say about contemporary Southern Baptist theology in my lifetime, "deep" is not a word that will be mentioned.
