Tiffiney Zinger said it was painful telling her daughter she couldn't use a family vacation photo for her second grade class project – the image was marred by what appeared to be a symbol of hate.

The photo shows the 6-year-old girl, who is biracial and has autism, posing with an actor dressed as the movie character Gru from "Despicable Me" during a Universal Orlando breakfast event attended by the Zinger family in March. The character formed an upside-down "OK" symbol with his fingers, recognized by some as a hate symbol, on the girl's shoulder, according to a photo and video reviewed by USA TODAY.

A Universal Orlando Resort spokesman said Tuesday in response to USA TODAY inquiries about the episode that the actor had been fired. The spokesman, Tom Schroder, initially declined to further comment but then issued a statement:

"We never want our guests to experience what this family did. This is not acceptable and we are sorry – and we are taking steps to make sure nothing like this happens again. We can’t discuss specifics about this incident, but we can confirm that the actor no longer works here. We remain in contact with the family and will work with them privately to make this right."

Okay, then I suppose the next step should be to go through all videos and photos, and audios and texts of people making the OK sign, or saying the word “okay,” or writing it. Publicly shame them, fire them from their jobs, bar them from holding office, toss them out on the street, lynch them as supremacists.

Ban all books containing it, burn all documents with it, purge all dictionaries of it. Would that be OK with everyone? And continuing with the progressive leftist “logic,” they’ll probably have to get rid of KO, too, because backward must be even more sinister, right? Watch out, boxing fans, you may go down for the count with this one. ‘K?

(NOTE: This was sarcasm, I think.)

I was thinking of starting my own website to label liberal organizations and start with them.

A first, I didn't get how the OK sign could even be considered racist by the ADL, then I saw this stupid pic:

Personally, I curl my 3 fingers when making this sign so it doesn't even make the W like that...

Second,I didn't hear squat about this black power sign!:

Tiffiney Zinger should face child abuse charges for ruining that poor girl's pride in her most cherished vacation souvenir.

    Hoooo, BOY !

Just when I start to believe we've reached the depths of stupidity, something like THIS comes along!

Next, these liberal FOOLS wil be wanting to re-write the history of our early astronauts ! never mind that, among others, John Glenn, a Dem icon & liberal-leaning Senator, often used this sign & often said "A-OK !" during his astronaut days.

Since it was an upside down "OK", the "WP" becomes "dM" - Death to males? Dumber than mud? Disneyland is mediocre?

I've been using the OK sign while training patients to exercise for years and I don't plan to stop! I'd bet not one person will ever complain and the topic will never even come up unless it is just discussion about whether I have heard about the new status of that sign. My intent is my own and what counts, the ADL doesn't make the rules in my house and are mostly insignificant as far as I'm concerned.

If one were to make the Wp sign and then flip it over to dM (Doesn't Matter) then it could be the return symbol - kind of like sign language - White Power < White Power \ Doesn't Matter. ...This could get creative! [IMG] That said, the Black Power sign has been around for years, but ...Now I'm wondering if there is a sign for Mexican Power? Wouldn't want to leave them out of the fun.

The powers that be turned the confederate flag into a symbol of racism and drove it from the public eye. Not just that flag, but all symbols of the south, including the word "Dixie" and various statues. That racial grievance industry now has to now come up with new symbols to prove racial oppression. Enter Pepe the frog, the Betsy Ross flag, and the OK sign.

    Here's my opinion, for what's it's worth.

[1] I've never heard of this sign before except as OK. That doesn't mean people don't use it with ugly intent, but I don't believe that the overwhelming amount of American people even know it's used to show racism. I really don't.

[2] When you take a universal sign that people know means "x" and suddenly a handful of people turn it into "y". ONLY by giving the "y" people media attention, credit, and their 15 minutes does it turn into something ugly and ruin it for everyone else.

[3] The man in the video DID look like he formed his fingers this way on purpose - no matter his intent. He first put his hand on the little girl's shoulder in a normal way and then shaped the OK sign. Was it intentional? I don't know. It just looked that way although it may not have been. It was kind of add.

[4] If anyone has "ruined" this child's life or school project - it was the mother. The mother said that this can bring "emotional stress" on the "child and her development". ONLY if the mother makes it a "thing" to the point that the child is swayed to emotional crisis by the mother.

Six-year-old's don't have break-downs over symbolic gestures that they don't understand. Abstract ideas don't resonant with six-year-olds. I doubt the child even noticed the symbol in the picture.

IF the child wanted to put the picture on her school project, a piece of construction paper in the shape of a rectangle about 1/2 inch by 5 or 6 inches could be used as a caption: "[Child's name] and Gru!!!] Then glue it with one end of the caption covering the man's hand. Mount the picture with the caption on the board and there you go. Kids and parent do this all the time with project board. In order to mount the most pictures, charts, graphs - and so have you - you mount the captions ON the picture or half on it.

This may be a real "thing", but not in the world of the vast majority and a mountain was made over a mole hill.
