It seems the 7th dayers are keen to hone in on but one portion of God's original law, the Sabbath only. But when it comes to the other commands of God they themselves give the rest of them short shrift.

Do they follow the old time Jewish dietary laws and keep kosher in their daily lives? Of course not.

Do they follow the other 600 or so commands that is contained within the original old time laws? Of course not to that one too.

Only one do they follow (the 7th day) and the rest of them they throw in the wastebasket. My friends, that is nothing less than them being hypocrites of the highest order. They are either Christians under the new law which frees man from all the constraints of the old law, or they are not - it's that simple. If they are not then they are bound to all the other 600+ proscriptions laid out in the old.

Rubbish! You have no scripture for your tradition do you. Only God's Word is true and we should believe and follow it.
Please my friend can you show me a single scripture in God's WORD that says that God's 4th commandment which is one of the 10 commandments that give us a knowledge of what sin is in the NEW TESTAMENT *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4 has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day? If you cannot why do you follow this tradition handed down to you from the ROMAN CATHOLIC Church? You have no scripture do you.

Rubbish? Do you keep to the rest of God's word as laid out in the Old Testament? If not, you are a hypocrite of the highest order. You cannot cling to one command and then ignore the others. You have no credibility on the issue of God's laws as laid out in the Old Testament - none whatsoever!

You have no scripture do you brother. Does this not worry you? It sould. That is why you cannot show me a single scripture that says God's 4th Commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day. This is just the same as you cannot find me a single scripture that says Sunday or the first day of the week is "THE LORDS DAY"

You are confused with the "SHADOW LAWS IN ORDINACES" from the MOSAIC "BOOK OF THE OLD COVENANT" *EXODUS 24:7 with God's "ETERNAL LAW" that gives us a "KNOWEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL" SIN AND RIGHTEOUSNESS" in the NEW *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4.

Does this not worry you? It should brother. JESUS says those who "KNOWINGLY" follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9.

Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it and you have provided none.

I and others follow the law that was established by Jesus Christ and the legal authority that He gave His followers to act in His steed. From St. Paul on down, they proclaimed Sunday to be the day of worship for the Christian adherent. We have cited numerous scriptures to that effect but your obstinance refuses you the ability to accept what we have placed before you and the new reality of Christianity. You cannot live in two worlds and follow only those laws which you choose to follow and discard the rest. Nope, you cannot do that!

No you do not. God's ETERNAL LAW (10 commandments) is establaished by JESUS and taught by the Apostles all through the NEW TESTAMENT. You have no scripture for your tradition do you? Where is the scripture that says God's 4th Commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day? You have none do you. Just they same as you have no scripture that says SUNDAY or the "FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK" is "THE LORDS DAY" Does this not worry you? It should. JESUS says those who "KNOWINGLY" follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9. Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it and you have provided none.

    Yes I do.

    Matthew 16:19
    - "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven".

There you have it, the full legal basis for the new day of worship for Christians. This authority to act was given to the Apostles by none other than God Himself Incarate in the form of Jesus Christ. We are right, you are wrong.

Its still binding even if your practicing complete Jew.

Here's what your avoiding.... HOW DO YOU KEEP A SABBATH?

What you do is throw a BBQ and WASH THE CAR. Is that right?

We probably ALREADY keep sabbath better than you, prob on account we worship God all week long.

Your just repeating yourself here brother. This was answered in the COLOSSIANS 2:16 thread which is a distraction not to address the OP there.

Your point is no relevant. The physical JEWS do not believe in Chrsit. The "SHADOW LAWS" of Circumcision is not a requirement for salvation in the "NEW COVENANT" *ACTS 15 for those who BELIEVE in JESUS.

Your just repeating yourself. You are confused brother in the "SHADOW LAWS IN ORDINANCES" and mixing up the OLD with the NEW. CIRCUMCISION in the NEW COVANANT for those who "BELIEVE" in JESUS is that of the heart through faith. This is what circumcision pointed to.

ROMANS 2:27-28 [28], For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: [29], But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

GALATIANS 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love.

GALATIANS 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

COLOSSIANS 3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

1 CORINTHIANS 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

The "SHADOW LAWS IN ORDINANCES" from the MOSAIC BOOK of the OLD COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 all point to JESUS and God's plan of salvation in the NEW COVENANT.

Good question! What do the scriptures say?

HOW DO WE KEEP THE SABBATH?

WHAT DOES GOD'S 4TH COMMANDMENT SAY?

    EXODUS 20:8-11
[8], Remember the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)
[9], Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
[10], But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
[11], For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT.

    WHAT DAY IS GOD'S SABBATH?

v10 The SEVENTH DAY of the week. (Saturday)

WHEN DOES THE SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK START?

    GENESIS 1:4-5
[4], And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
[5], And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

A day in God's time is the night (darkness) and the light make up one day. The DAY in God's WORD starts at SUNSET and ends the following SUNSET. So God's 4th Commandment Sabbath would start Friday at SUNSET and end Saturday at SUNSET.

ALL UNECCESSARY WORK TO BE DONE BEFORE FRIDAY SUNSET

    EXODUS 16:22-23
[22], And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
[23], And he said to them, This is that which the LORD has said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath to the LORD: bake that which you will bake to day, and seethe that you will seethe; and that which remains over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

MARK 15:42, And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath

The preparation day is the 6th day of the week. This includes preparing to stop all business and secular work as well as any domestic work; cooking, cleaning; shopping, buying and selling that can be done on any other day of the week.

IT IS LAWFUL TO DO GOOD ON THE SABBATH?

    MATTHEW 12:5-12
[5], Or have you not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
[6], But I say to you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
[7], But if you had known what this means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the guiltless.
[8], For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day
[9], And when he was departed from there, he went into their synagogue:
[10], And, behold, there was a man who had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
[11], And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
[12], How much then is a man better than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

MARK 2:27, And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath

It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.

WHAT IS LAWFUL ON GOD'S SABBATH?

    1. Remembering the creator and his creation (Exod 20:8-11)
    2. Rest from all unnecessary work (Ecodus 20:10-11)
    3. Doing good (Matt 12:12)
    4. Prayer (Acts 16:13; Matt 21:13)
    5. Worship the creator (Isaiah 58:13-14; Ex 34:14; 1KING 9:6; Rev 14:6-12)

Song, praise, bible study, helping others, preaching the gospel, resting, prayer, seeking God, remembering the creator and his creation. Walking in nature, going to church with like minded believers. (too many scriptures)

WHAT IS NOT LAWFUL ON GOD'S SABBATH?

WORK; all business and secular work as well as any domestic work; cooking, cleaning; shopping, buying and selling that can be done on any other day of the week and anything to do with work (Exodus 20:8-11; Ex 16:22-23; Matt 21:13).

    .............

There is no purpose in FOLLOWING any of God's LAWs including the SABBATH if it is NOT done through FAITH that works by LOVE because it is ONLY as GOD writes his LAW to LOVE then we can take up our beds to follow him. LOVE is the fulfilling of GOd's LAW in those who BELIEVE (Rom 13:8-10)

"Now where is the scripture that says God's 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?" You have provided none have you? Does this not worry you? If should.

JESUS says those who "KNOWINGLY" follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9. Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it and you have provided none.

May you receive God's WORD and be blessed.

Nope. MATTHEW 16:19 does not say God's 4th commandment is abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day. No one has the keys of the kingdom to change or break God's commandments.

God's ETERNAL LAW (10 commandments) is establaished by JESUS and taught by the Apostles all through the NEW TESTAMENT. You have no scripture for your tradition do you?

    Right so...

    Exodus 35

2“For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a sabbath of complete rest to the LORD; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. 3“You shall not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath day.”

So between Friday Night and Saturday Night, you are not going to be on the internet right? cause it causes ISP's to work. and turning on the monitor kindles a fire, do you power off your house Friday night? No lights.

I'm not allowed to make another person work either.

And when you see someone work, "whoever does any work on it shall be put to death." Is that Right?

    No Driving

No Turning on or off lights or operating electrical appliances (including phones)

    NO Cooking

No Carrying in the public domain

    No heater pilot fire kindle.

in Sabbath keeping communities who stones those to death who break the SABBATH?

Exodus 31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

Our friend wants to have it both ways, to keep the OT Sabbath but free to break said Sabbath without penalty.

You continue to be a one trick pony. Your whole world would end if you accepted THE truth of Christianity, not the one brought to you by Ellen White.

    The Sabbath is eternal. TODAY(24/7)

    Hebrews 3
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
    14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?

    Hebrews 4
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Those who cannot/willnot cease from dead works and enter into the rest provided by Jesus finished works of salvation on the cross will die in there sin.

There is a tragic irony that some who keep the earthly Sabbath break the heavenly Sabbath.
